You can capture a publicly reachable India-hosted website with URL2PNG by sending its screenshot API a signed request containing the target URL and capture settings. But URL2PNG’s reviewed documentation does not establish that its rendering browser runs in India or let you select an Indian IP address. If the site requires Indian network access or serves different content by visitor location, confirm the renderer’s geography with URL2PNG before relying on the result.
What URL2PNG can—and cannot—tell you about India
URL2PNG is a hosted screenshot API: your application sends a signed request naming a page and options, and the service returns a screenshot. Its documentation says requests can be made from anywhere; that describes where you can send the API request, not where URL2PNG’s browser renders the page. The reviewed docs do not identify an India rendering region, India proxy, or country-selection parameter. URL2PNG’s documentation and plans page therefore do not establish that a normal request will capture an India-only version of a site.
A website hosted in India may be capturable if the rendering service can reach it. Hosting country alone does not guarantee reachability or the same content a visitor in India sees. The site may also depend on an Indian source IP, regional cookies, a location redirect, or language negotiation.
- If the site is publicly accessible and does not depend on visitor geography, try a normal capture and inspect the result.
- If it restricts access to Indian IP addresses or personalizes by location, ask URL2PNG to confirm the render location or use a capture route whose India-based rendering is explicitly documented.
- Setting an Indian language preference changes the request’s language header; it does not give the renderer an Indian IP address.
Prepare a signed URL2PNG request
First obtain a valid URL2PNG account and its API key and secret. As of the signup page reviewed on October 3, 2026, signup is restricted and prospective users are directed to request a signup code from support. Confirm that you can access the service before building around it: URL2PNG signup.

URL2PNG v6 requests include the API key and a token computed from the complete query string and secret. Query-string representation matters, so use the signing procedure and sample for your chosen language in the official documentation. Do not put the secret in browser-side JavaScript, a public repository, or a client application distributed to users.
The following cURL outline shows the request shape, not a complete signing implementation. Generate the URL2PNG token exactly as its documentation specifies, then supply it with the other request parameters. URL-encode the target URL as part of the query string.

Capture the page and verify the result
- Choose the exact page URL, including any path or query parameters the site requires.
- Select viewport-only or full-page capture, then decide whether the page needs a delay or an explicit readiness signal.
- Build and sign the request using URL2PNG’s official language-specific example. Keep the secret on a server you control.
- Send the request over HTTPS and save or stream the returned image using the response handling in the official sample.
- Inspect the screenshot for the expected page, language, layout, and content. A successful image alone does not prove it was rendered from an Indian IP address.
- If the output is blocked, redirected, or regionally different, establish whether the cause is reachability, location-based access, cookies, or page readiness before changing capture settings.
Cache, usage, and account considerations
URL2PNG’s plans FAQ says each fresh screenshot counts as one render, cached requests do not count against the plan, and screenshots are cached for 30 days by default with adjustable TTL. The quickstart separately documents the default TTL as 2,592,000 seconds. Plan quotas and overage rates can change, so check the current plans page rather than relying on copied prices; that page says URL2PNG has no free account at present. The signup flow currently requires a code, so verify account access and plan terms before depending on the API in production.
Troubleshooting common capture problems
- The request fails authentication: check the API key, secret, token, and exact query-string representation. Rebuild the signature according to the official sample, including the target URL and capture parameters.
- The image shows the wrong language: check the site’s language negotiation and the
accept_languagesvalue. A language header does not provide an India-based IP. - The page is blank or incomplete: check whether the site needs more time after document readiness, then try a documented
delayor, if you control the page, thesay_cheesereadiness element. - The screenshot cuts off lower content: viewport-only is the documented default. Request
fullpage=truefor an attempt to capture the document canvas. - The screenshot is stale: request a fresh capture with a changing
uniquevalue, following URL2PNG’s signing and parameter instructions. - The site denies access or redirects unexpectedly: check whether it requires an Indian source IP, a regional cookie, or another location-specific condition. The reviewed URL2PNG documentation does not confirm India-based rendering; ask the vendor or use a separately verified India-origin capture route.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I take a URL2PNG screenshot from India?
You can send an API request from India, but that does not establish that URL2PNG’s rendering browser is located there. Confirm render geography with URL2PNG if the capture must originate from an Indian IP.
Does setting accept_languages to an Indian language make the screenshot India-based?
No. It changes the language header. It does not select the renderer’s network location or IP country.
