To document a competitor listing, open its product page in a desktop browser, select the exact variant and delivery location you need to record, then capture the visible screen or the full page. Save the original image unchanged and note the URL, capture time in UTC, browser, device, selected options, and any price, stock, or offer details shown. Use print-to-PDF when a printable page record is more useful than a faithful image of the screen.
Choose the capture that fits the evidence you need

Prepare the product page before capturing it
- Open the specific product URL in a desktop browser. Wait for the page to finish loading before capturing it.
- Select the relevant size, colour, seller, offer, or other variant. If price or delivery availability matters, set the delivery location or pincode first.
- Check that the details you intend to document are visible and note any conditions shown, such as the selected variant, delivery location, offer text, or stock status.
- Choose a visible screenshot, a full-page image, or a PDF according to how much of the page you need and whether print-style output is useful.
Product listings can vary by selected options, seller, location, time, stock, and promotions. A screenshot records what appeared in one browser session; on its own, it does not establish that the listing was generally available, accurate, or unchanged at another time.
Capture a visible screenshot with your operating system
Use your operating system’s screenshot tool when the relevant listing details fit in the visible browser area. The exact shortcut depends on your operating system; the Chrome Community guidance identifies OS screenshot tools as the basic option. Frame the page so the product details and, where useful, the browser context are visible. Save the resulting image without altering the original.

Capture a full-page screenshot in Chrome
A Chrome Community answer describes using Developer Tools’ command menu to capture a full-size screenshot. This is community guidance rather than formal Chrome documentation, and Chrome’s commands or menus may change.
- Open Developer Tools: press Ctrl + Shift + I on Windows or Linux, or Cmd + Option + I on Mac.
- Open the command menu: press Ctrl + Shift + P on Windows or Linux, or Cmd + Shift + P on Mac.
- Search for the full-size screenshot command, then select “Capture full size screenshot.”
- Check the saved image to confirm the relevant parts of the listing are present and legible.
If you cannot find the command, check that Developer Tools is open and search the command menu for “screenshot.” The menu may differ across Chrome versions.

- Open the product page and select the variant and delivery location you need to document.
- Choose File > Print, or press Ctrl + P on Windows or Linux, or ⌘ + P on Mac.
- In the print dialog, choose an available destination or print setting. If Save as PDF is available, select it and save a separate PDF record.
- Open the PDF and check that the relevant product details and text are included.
Chrome’s print output is not a substitute for a screen image when appearance or interactive page state matters: printing may reflow content or omit interactive elements. Consult Google Chrome Help: Print from Chrome – Computer for Chrome’s print instructions.

Preserve the capture and its context
- Keep the original capture unchanged. If you add annotations, make a separate working copy.
- Record the source URL and capture time in UTC.
- Note the browser and device used, plus the selected variant and delivery location.
- Record the offer, price, stock, or other page text you rely on as it appeared in the capture.
These are practical record-keeping recommendations, not a claim that a marketplace requires a particular evidentiary format. If you need to share or rely on the capture later, keeping its conditions with it helps explain what one browser session showed.
Check the marketplace terms before copying or reusing content
Marketplace terms differ, and the cited clauses do not settle every question about personal research, evidence preservation, publication, fair dealing, copyright, contract formation, or legal process. Before repeated, automated, commercial, or public reuse, check the target platform’s current terms. Respect access controls; do not bypass logins, bot checks, or technical restrictions. Seek permission or legal advice when the intended use is consequential.
