To capture an Indian ecommerce page at a mobile viewport with ApiFlash, call its /v1/urltoimage endpoint with a valid access key, the complete target URL, explicit width and height, and full_page=false. For example, 390 × 844 pixels is one possible test viewport—not a universal Indian phone size. Set language, timezone, and capture timing separately, then inspect the returned image: these controls do not guarantee that a store will load or display a particular localized experience.
Make a mobile viewport capture with ApiFlash
ApiFlash accepts HTTPS GET or POST requests at https://api.apiflash.com/v1/urltoimage. Include a valid access key and a complete target URL, including its protocol. The default response is image data; use response_type=json if you want a JSON response containing a screenshot URL and, optionally, extracted content links.
This cURL example requests a 390 × 844 PNG, sets language and timezone, and saves the image as capture.png. Replace the example store URL with a target you are authorized to inspect.

Set the viewport and localization controls deliberately
Viewport dimensions and full-page behavior
ApiFlash defaults to 1920 × 1080 pixels, so omitting dimensions produces a desktop-sized capture rather than a mobile viewport. Set both width and height explicitly. Documented dimensions range from 0 to 16,350 pixels, subject to a maximum width-times-height area of 33,177,600 pixels.
For a viewport-only image, keep full_page=false. Setting full_page=true captures the whole page and makes the supplied height irrelevant. The scale_factor setting supports 1 or 2; 2 produces a higher-definition image and a larger file.
Language, timezone, location, and network
Use accept_language to set the request’s Accept-Language header and time_zone to specify a timezone database name such as Asia/Kolkata. These are separate controls: setting a language does not set a timezone, and neither proves that the site will serve content for a particular Indian shopper.
ApiFlash also documents latitude and longitude emulation and a proxy setting. Its ip_location option, which associates a country with the proxy IP, is available only on custom enterprise plans according to its documentation. A user_agent value sets the User-Agent header; it is not a certification of exact hardware or complete device emulation. Use these options when your test plan calls for them, and record the settings so captures can be compared fairly.

Wait for the content you need
The default wait_until condition is network_idle. Other documented values are dom_loaded and page_loaded. If the product card, price, or navigation you need appears asynchronously, use wait_for with a URL-encoded CSS selector that identifies it. The selector must appear within 15 seconds or the capture aborts.
wait_until_timeout can be set from 1 to 30 seconds. If the selected condition is not reached in that time, capture proceeds with the page state available at timeout. A short delay can help when an animation needs to finish, but ApiFlash recommends using wait_for or wait_until controls when possible. Avoid treating a timeout-based image as proof that every element finished loading.
Choose whether to include banners, ads, and lazy-loaded content
These options affect what the image represents, so decide whether you want to document the shopper’s unmodified experience or inspect a cleaner diagnostic view.

For an audit of what a visitor initially sees, leave suppression off and preserve the banner or ad state. For a separate layout or content check, suppression and scrolling may help isolate the page underneath. These are not neutral settings: record whether they were enabled when comparing results.
Select format, quality, cache behavior, and response type
Image format and quality
ApiFlash supports png, jpeg, and webp. JPEG and WebP accept a quality value from 0 to 100. Higher quality generally trades a larger image for less compression loss. For WebP, each dimension is limited to 16,350 pixels after applying the scale factor.

Fresh captures and cache lifetime
Identical requests may return a cached image for 86,400 seconds by default. Set fresh=true to bypass cached screenshots. The cache TTL can be configured from 0 to 2,592,000 seconds (30 days). When checking a recent price, promotion, or inventory change, account for caching so a previous capture is not mistaken for the current page.
Image response or JSON
The normal response is image data. Use response_type=json when you need a JSON object with the screenshot URL and optional extracted content links instead of receiving the image directly. Choose the response type based on how your application will consume the result.

Compare captures without changing several variables at once
When testing how a page appears across scenarios, keep the target URL constant and change one controlled factor at a time. A useful comparison record includes:
- Viewport width and height, plus the user-agent scenario and scale factor.
- Accept-Language and timezone values.
- Wait condition, timeout, and any selector supplied to
wait_for. - Whether cookie-banner suppression, ad suppression, or page scrolling was enabled.
- Cache freshness, output format, and image quality where relevant.
ApiFlash documents these request controls, but it does not establish which dimensions best represent your audience. Use your own device analytics or test plan to choose representative viewports.

Handle limits and common capture failures
Rate limits and quota
ApiFlash documents a rate limit of 20 requests per second with a burst size of 400. Requests beyond the burst can receive HTTP 429. Identical requests that fail to capture are separately limited to five attempts per hour. Successful calls expose quota headers, and ApiFlash documents a quota endpoint; check quota status before interpreting repeated failures as a target-site problem.

A page can also load incompletely or be blocked by its own defenses. ApiFlash’s FAQ says, “While ApiFlash does its best to bypass bot protection, some strict protections may still block access.” This is a vendor statement, not a guarantee for any particular store. The documented controls do not establish that an individual Indian ecommerce domain is accessible or will display a specific localized state; inspect the returned image and response for each target.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does ApiFlash automatically use a mobile viewport?
No. Its documented default is 1920 × 1080 pixels. Supply both width and height for a mobile-sized viewport.
Will setting an Indian language or timezone guarantee an Indian storefront experience?
No. Those settings control request headers or browser timezone, but they do not guarantee a merchant’s localization behavior or a particular shopper’s network experience.
Why did a capture fail even though the request parameters look valid?
A target may be uncapturable or block automated access, and the API can also return quota, rate-limit, or internal errors. Check the response code and inspect the target with an authorized request.
