APITemplate.io’s documented URL workflow creates a PDF of a publicly accessible webpage, not a PNG or JPEG screenshot. To make an image containing Hindi text, use its image-template editor and v2 image API; to preserve a live Hindi webpage, use the documented URL-to-PDF endpoint or a screenshot service that explicitly returns images. In either case, preview real Devanagari text before relying on the result: the reviewed documentation does not guarantee Hindi font coverage or shaping.
Choose the workflow that matches your output
| What you have | Documented APITemplate.io workflow | Output |
|---|---|---|
| An existing public Hindi webpage | Create PDF from URL; renders the page with headless Chromium and supports JavaScript and modern CSS, according to the documentation. | PDF, not a documented PNG/JPEG webpage screenshot. |
| Hindi text and assets for a designed graphic | Create an image template, then replace named fields with values through the v2 image API. | PNG image delivered through a download URL. |
| HTML and Hindi text that you supply | Use APITemplate.io’s HTML-to-PDF workflow, which accepts HTML, CSS, optional Jinja2 data, and page settings. | PDF, not the image-template workflow. |
The documentation reviewed does not establish whether APITemplate.io has another supported endpoint or workaround for capturing arbitrary webpage URLs directly as PNG or JPEG. That is a limit of the documented evidence, not proof that no such capability exists.

Make a PNG from Hindi content with an image template
Build and preview the template
- Open APITemplate.io’s image-template editor and create a design with the required text, images, shapes, QR codes, or barcodes. The editor is a visual, drag-and-drop tool for creating image templates.
- Assign names to the elements whose values will change, such as a headline or caption. These names are the fields you will target in API overrides.
- Enter representative Hindi text in the editor preview. Test the exact words and characters you plan to publish, including conjuncts, punctuation, and longer lines, and inspect the resulting PNG for glyph shape, spacing, and wrapping.
- Use the v2 image-generation API to send the template and an
overridesarray containing the named fields and replacement values. The documented response includes a download URL for the generated image.
APITemplate.io’s image-template documentation describes this template-to-image route; it does not establish that a webpage URL can be passed to it as a direct screenshot input. Follow the current image-template API instructions for the v2 request format and authentication rather than copying older examples.
Capture an existing public webpage as a PDF
If the source must remain a live webpage, APITemplate.io’s documented URL endpoint is POST /v2/create-pdf-from-url. Supply the public page’s url and, if needed, PDF page settings. The response contains a PDF download_url. The docs describe rendering with headless Chromium and support for JavaScript and modern CSS; they do not describe this endpoint as returning a screenshot image.

If you need a PNG or JPEG of the rendered page, do not assume that changing a PDF setting will convert the endpoint into a screenshot API. Choose a documented image-output route or a service whose URL-to-image behavior is explicit.
Use HTML-to-PDF for supplied markup
When you control the markup rather than need to capture a URL, APITemplate.io documents a raw HTML-to-PDF endpoint. Its HTML workflow accepts an HTML body and CSS, optional Jinja2 data, and page settings. The HTML editor documentation also describes JavaScript, JSON data, loops, and external fonts and resources in its CSS tab. This remains a PDF workflow; keep it distinct from generating a PNG with an image template.

The documentation’s custom-font examples do not specifically establish Devanagari font availability or correct Hindi shaping in either the image API or every PDF rendering route. Load a suitable font where the chosen workflow allows it, then verify the actual output rather than assuming a font declaration guarantees correct rendering.
Validate Hindi rendering before automating
- Check glyph coverage: look for missing-character boxes, substituted glyphs, or clipped marks in the generated file.
- Check conjuncts and shaping in the actual output, not only in the editor or source HTML.
- Check line wrapping, text direction where relevant, punctuation, and mixed Hindi/Latin text at the target image size or PDF page size.
- Repeat the preview using the same output route and font-loading method you intend to use in production. The reviewed product documentation does not give a Hindi-rendering guarantee.
Use current API documentation
APITemplate.io’s legacy v1 reference says v1 is no longer supported and recommends v2. Do not build a new workflow from old v1 endpoint examples or exposed sample credentials; use the current v2 documentation for the relevant output type. See the legacy v1 reference for that deprecation notice.

For a direct URL-to-image screenshot, ScreenshotNeo offers a one-request API. This cURL example saves a WebP screenshot of the Hindi page; replace the URL with your target and provide your API key:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://example.com/hindi-page -o shot.webp

Common issues and fixes
- You received a PDF when you expected an image: the URL endpoint documented by APITemplate.io produces a PDF. Use its image-template API for a designed PNG, or select a URL-to-image screenshot service if you need a picture of a live page.
- The page cannot be captured from its URL: the documented URL-to-PDF workflow requires a publicly accessible page. Check that the URL works without a private login or network access unavailable to the rendering service.
- Hindi characters look wrong or wrap unexpectedly: the reviewed documentation does not guarantee Devanagari support. Preview the actual output with the real text and a font supported by the chosen workflow; adjust layout or font loading if needed.
- An old integration example fails: v1 is identified as unsupported in APITemplate.io’s legacy reference. Move to the current v2 instructions and avoid old sample credentials.
