ScreenshotOne can render an accessible webpage URL as a PDF. For a PDF that most closely resembles a full-page screen capture, its documented options are format=pdf, media_type=screen, pdf_print_background=true, and pdf_fit_one_page=true. This is a visual rendering—not a portal-native e-Invoice or return download—and the available documentation does not establish that ScreenshotOne can access an authenticated GST taxpayer session.
Capture an accessible GST page as a PDF
- Choose the page. Identify the URL you want to record. Do not assume a page that requires GST taxpayer sign-in will be available to a remote renderer; the cited ScreenshotOne documentation does not verify GST session interoperability.
- Request PDF output. Set
format=pdf. To approximate a continuous screenshot, also setmedia_type=screen,pdf_print_background=true, andpdf_fit_one_page=true. These are documented PDF rendering options, not a GST-specific preset. See ScreenshotOne’s options reference. - Choose fit and page layout. One-page fitting tries to put the website on a single page, which can make a long page too small to read. If legibility matters, compare it with a normally paginated PDF; the options reference also documents paper format, landscape orientation, and margins.
- Inspect the result. Confirm that the relevant content, graphics, and page sections are present and readable before relying on the PDF as a record.
ScreenshotOne’s full-page capture guide recommends trying a longer delay, such as 5–10 seconds, for content that needs more time to load. It cautions that some pages are difficult to capture reliably and that higher-quality rendering can reduce performance. This is general guidance, not a report of testing on the GST portal.
Know what the PDF represents
A rendered PDF records how a webpage appeared; it is not necessarily an official tax document or structured data export. Use the portal’s own download workflow when you need an official e-Invoice file or structured return data. Whether ScreenshotOne can render a page behind GST sign-in is not established by its generic URL-to-PDF documentation.
Use HTTPS for API requests. ScreenshotOne warns that HTTP does not encrypt API keys, authorization headers, or cookies in transit. Do not put credentials in a public or shared request URL, and do not send a GST password or session token to a capture service unless the access method is independently verified and authorized. When to use the GST portal’s native downloads instead
e-Invoice records
GSTN’s e-Invoice download help describes signing in to the e-Invoice portal with GST portal credentials. It says a PDF can be downloaded for a single active IRN; period-level bulk downloads are described as signed JSON, and IRN lists as Excel. The help also states that e-Invoice JSON is available for six months from IRN generation and that files produced for period or list downloads remain in Download History for two days. Portal workflows and eligibility can change, so check the current UI and applicable conditions.
GSTR-1 e-Invoice details
The GST Portal’s GSTR-1 guide describes an Excel download for auto-populated e-Invoice details. It says generation depends on the number of records; when there are more than 500 records, processing may complete later and the file can be retrieved from E-Invoice Download History. For structured invoice data, this native download is more suitable than a visual capture.
