On a supported Xiaomi, Redmi, or POCO phone, a full-page capture is called a scrolling screenshot or long screenshot. Take a normal screenshot, tap Scroll on its preview, stop at the required endpoint, tap DONE, and tap the ✓ save control. The result is one tall image containing content below the original screen.
How do I take a full-page screenshot on a Xiaomi phone?
Use this sequence for a web page, long message, document, or other vertically scrolling screen:
- Open the content and position it at the point where the capture should begin.
- Take a regular screenshot. You can swipe down from the upper-right to open Control Center and tap Screenshot, press Volume down + Power together if that shortcut is enabled, or use the configured three-finger gesture.
- When the screenshot preview appears, tap Scroll. The phone will extend the capture downward. If there is no content below the current viewport, this control may not be offered.
- Allow the page to move automatically, or adjust the scrolling position manually. Stop when the image reaches the final content you need.
- Tap DONE, then tap the ✓ control to save the long screenshot.
Xiaomi describes this as a way to “save the content in one long screenshot.” The exact button placement can vary between MIUI and HyperOS builds, but the workflow is substantially the same.
Ways to start the normal screenshot
Control Center
Swipe down from the upper-right corner, tap Screenshot, and immediately use Scroll in the preview. This is the clearest method on recent Xiaomi and Redmi phones, and is also documented for devices such as the REDMI Note 14 Pro and Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro.

Power and volume buttons
Press Volume down + Power at the same time and release quickly. If nothing happens, the shortcut may be disabled, reassigned, or unavailable on your build; use Control Center or enable a gesture instead.
Three-finger swipe
Open Settings > Additional settings > Gesture shortcuts > Take a screenshot, enable the three-finger option, then slide three fingers down the display. Take the ordinary screenshot first; Scroll remains a control on the resulting preview rather than part of the gesture itself.
How to use the scrolling controls precisely
Choose the endpoint
Scrolling screenshots are best for a complete article, conversation, receipt, or document section. Watch the preview as it grows and stop before unrelated content, comments, advertisements, or a footer you do not want to share. The phone may continue moving while images or text are still loading, so use a moderate pace rather than repeatedly tapping or swiping quickly.

Save and find the image
Tap DONE when the endpoint is correct, then tap ✓. The capture is saved as an image in Gallery, normally alongside ordinary screenshots. If it appears in the preview but is not visible later, check Gallery permissions and the folder access used by Gallery Editor; HyperOS guidance notes that permission to particular folders can be required to view and save scrolling captures.
Why is the Scroll button missing or greyed out?
A missing or disabled Scroll control does not necessarily mean the phone is broken. Xiaomi documents the feature, but does not promise that every app, screen, model, or software build exposes it.

The screen cannot scroll
Scroll is normally unavailable when the current view already fits on one screen or has no additional vertical content. Try a longer page or move to the beginning of the document before taking the screenshot.
The app blocks or changes scrolling capture
Some apps draw content in a way that the system cannot extend, or intentionally restrict screenshots. Test the same procedure in a normal browser page or a long text document. If it works there but not in the original app, the limitation is app-specific rather than a phone-wide setting.
Your build exposes a different interface
MIUI and HyperOS releases, regional firmware, and device families can use different preview controls. Install available system updates, try Control Center instead of a button shortcut, and look for a Long screenshot label or an overflow control in the screenshot preview. The feature is not guaranteed on every model.
Fix gaps, duplicated areas, or a capture that ends too soon
- Scroll more slowly: moving quickly can capture a section before it finishes rendering, producing gaps or repeated areas.
- Wait for lazy-loaded images: pause at image-heavy sections before allowing the next movement.
- Reduce page motion: close animated menus, carousels, or expanding elements where possible.
- Start at a stable position: return to the top of the article or message and take a fresh ordinary screenshot rather than extending an already partial capture.
- Use a shorter endpoint: extremely long pages can be difficult to stitch cleanly; capture logical sections if the final image becomes unwieldy.

Alternatives when the built-in method is unsuitable
Use an app’s own export or print command
For a web article or document, an in-app Print, Export PDF, or Save as PDF command can preserve text and links instead of producing a bitmap. This is preferable when the recipient needs searchable or selectable content, but it will not reproduce the exact visual appearance of a screenshot.
Capture in a desktop browser
If the phone app blocks scrolling capture, open the same URL on a desktop browser and use that browser’s full-page capture feature. This changes the layout and may require signing in again, so it is a fallback rather than an identical replacement.

For repeated URLs, scheduled snapshots, or server-side workflows, an API avoids manual phone interaction. Compare any service by app/site compatibility, whether it returns an image or selectable document, maximum capture length, stitching behavior, and the permissions or credentials it requires.

Troubleshooting checklist
- No screenshot preview: retry with Control Center, then verify the button or three-finger shortcut in Settings.
- Scroll is greyed out: confirm that more content exists below and test a standard browser page.
- Image has seams: slow the automatic movement and wait for dynamic content to finish loading.
- Capture is not in Gallery: grant Gallery Editor access to the relevant storage folders and check the screenshots album.
- Only part of the page is included: stop and restart from the desired starting point, then let the capture continue to the endpoint.
- App content is missing: use that app’s export or PDF function, or capture the same content in a browser.
Frequently asked questions
Is a scrolling screenshot the same as a PDF?
No. Xiaomi’s built-in result is a tall image. A PDF or export command may preserve selectable text and links instead.

Can I capture an entire chat?
You can capture a long chat when the app allows vertical scrolling capture, but app restrictions and very long histories can limit the result. Capture in sections if the image becomes difficult to handle.
Does the feature require a special Xiaomi accessory?
