For a public bank webpage, Firefox’s built-in Save full page feature can capture the whole page without installing an extension. For a logged-in banking page, first ask whether a screenshot is necessary; if it is, use a trusted personal device, keep account and authentication details out of the image, and follow the bank’s and your employer’s rules. A full-page capture can include sensitive content farther down the page, so check the entire image before keeping or sharing it.
Before you capture: decide what the image needs to show
If a public page, help article, or blank demonstration page will do, use that instead of capturing an authenticated account. This is a data-minimization precaution based on banks’ warnings to protect financial information, not a claim that Indian banks have a universal screenshot policy.
Never include account numbers, internet-banking credentials, card numbers, CVV, PIN, OTP, or other financial information in an image you plan to share. Indian Bank describes such information as highly confidential in its Banking Security & Safe Banking Tips. A full-page capture may include information that is below the visible screen, so inspect the whole saved image—not just the part you initially saw.

Reach the bank safely and prepare the browser
- Open the bank independently. Type the bank’s known official address or use a trusted bookmark. Do not use an unsolicited email or SMS link. Check the domain carefully: HTTPS is useful, but it does not prove that a lookalike domain belongs to the bank. See the Bank of India safe-banking guidance and the Ministry of Home Affairs’ Cyber Safety guidance.
- Use a trusted, updated personal device and browser. Bank of India recommends personal desktop or laptop use and an updated browser. Indian Bank warns against transactions over public or open Wi-Fi; avoid public computers and networks for banking as well. See Indian Bank’s cyber-behaviour guidance.
- Check the bank’s or your organization’s rules. If this is a work-managed browser or device, an administrator policy may prevent screenshots. A blocked capture may reflect policy rather than a browser defect.
Capture a full page in Firefox
Mozilla’s Firefox help documents a built-in screenshot feature. As documented on 2026-06-15, use the page context menu or the keyboard shortcut; the interface may change in later browser versions.

- Open the page you are permitted to capture in Firefox.
- Right-click the page and choose Take Screenshot. Alternatively, press Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows or Linux, or Command+Shift+S on Mac.
- Choose Save full page to capture the page beyond the currently visible viewport.
- Review the complete image for account identifiers or other sensitive information before you keep, upload, or share it. If sensitive information appears anywhere in the image, do not share that file; recapture a public or non-sensitive page if possible.

What to expect in Chrome and managed browsers
Google’s Chrome Enterprise documentation describes policies that can restrict screenshots for managed users or browsers using Chrome Enterprise Premium. If a capture is disabled on a work-managed profile, ask the administrator whether the restriction is intentional rather than trying to bypass it. See Set Chrome policies for users or browsers.

A Chrome Help Community discussion mentions a DevTools command-menu route called “Capture full size screenshot,” but Google cautions that community content may be unverified or outdated. Treat it as secondary context, not a guaranteed current procedure: Chrome Help Community: Screenshot.
Protect the screenshot and end the session
- Keep the image only if there is a specific need. Store it somewhere others cannot access, and delete it when it is no longer needed.
- Do not send a banking screenshot through an untrusted channel or upload it to a service if it contains logged-in account information.
- When finished banking, log out and close the browser, following Indian Bank’s safe cyber-behaviour advice.
These file-retention precautions are cautious recommendations based on the sensitivity of the information; they are not presented as a quoted bank rule.

Limits and troubleshooting
- “Take Screenshot” is missing: Confirm that you are using Firefox and try the documented shortcut. Browser controls can change between versions. Do not install an unreviewed extension just to capture a banking session; screenshot extensions can access page content, and the sources cited here do not establish that any particular third-party extension is safe for bank sessions.
- The capture is blocked: A managed browser or organization policy may restrict screenshots. Check with the administrator or use an allowed public page instead; do not bypass a policy.
- The image includes more than expected: Full-page capture includes content beyond the visible viewport. Inspect the whole image and discard it if sensitive details appear; use a public or blank demonstration page when that can meet the need.
- Part of a logged-in page is missing or changes while capturing: Bank portals can update content dynamically or load it as the page scrolls. There is no bank-by-bank compatibility finding here, so behavior on a specific portal is not guaranteed. Do not test by exposing account data; if a capture is essential, follow the bank’s applicable policy and verify the result without sharing sensitive information.
- You are considering a third-party screenshot service: Do not send a logged-in bank page, session cookies, credentials, or account data to a remote service. Use a service only for a public, non-sensitive page whose URL is appropriate to submit.
