You can use Puppeteer’s Page.screenshot() method to save a permitted bank-page view as an image. The code below shows only the capture step on a placeholder public page; it does not log in to a bank. For an authenticated account, capture only when the bank’s terms allow it, operate the account yourself through its normal login, and treat the resulting image as sensitive.
Before capturing a bank page
Puppeteer documents how to take screenshots, but that does not establish permission to automate any particular Indian bank’s authenticated service. Check the selected bank’s current terms and use a bank-provided test or demo environment where available. If you are capturing your own account, favor an account-holder-operated capture after normal login. Do not automate credential entry, bypass MFA or CAPTCHA, reuse session cookies, or evade a bank’s controls. If the bank blocks automation or presents a security challenge, stop and use a bank-approved route.
Banking screenshots can expose account numbers, balances, names, and transaction details. Do not put usernames, passwords, PINs, OTPs, or session tokens in code, logs, screenshots, or public repositories. Redact sensitive details before sharing; store the original securely. RBI-hosted materials counsel protecting banking credentials and avoiding financial transactions on public computers. The RBI consumer-awareness material also warns that screen-sharing or remote-access apps can expose financial credentials. Install Puppeteer and capture an authorized page
The following example uses Node.js and an illustrative public URL. Replace it only with a page you are permitted to capture, such as a bank-provided demo or test page. It does not demonstrate or automate bank login.

Install Puppeteer in a project with Node.js:
npm install puppeteer. The normal installation flow installs a compatible browser. If your environment blocks install scripts, the browser download may be skipped and launch can fail.puppeteer-coreis an option when you manage the browser separately. -

Choose the capture mode

For regular Chrome, the documented visible setting is headless: false. Puppeteer’s chrome-headless-shell option behaves differently from regular Chrome; consult the headless modes guide if selecting it.
Wait for the right page state
networkidle2 in the example is a readiness choice, not proof that every bank page has finished rendering. Pages can update after network activity settles, and some may keep connections open. On an authorized test page, wait for a page-specific element or another condition that represents the content you need before calling screenshot(). Avoid adding waits or automation intended to defeat authentication or security controls.
Save as PNG, or capture the full page
path controls the output file, and PNG is Puppeteer’s documented default image type. The example writes bank-page.png; the fullPage: true setting makes it a full-page capture. For a viewport-only PNG, omit fullPage or set it to false. Puppeteer also documents other screenshot image types; see the ScreenshotOptions API for supported options in the installed version.

Troubleshoot common capture problems

The screenshot is blank or incomplete: the selected navigation condition may have resolved before the page’s relevant content appeared. On a permitted test page, wait for a specific element or other appropriate readiness condition.

A bank page shows a challenge or blocks automation: stop. Do not bypass CAPTCHA, MFA, or another control; contact the bank or use its approved route.

The screenshot contains sensitive information: do not share the unredacted file. Make a redacted copy for sharing and keep the original in secure storage.
