On desktop Firefox, open the page, right-click an empty area and choose Take Screenshot (or press Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows or Linux, or Command+Shift+S on macOS). Choose Save full page, then Download to save a PNG. If your report needs a multipage document rather than one tall image, use Firefox’s print preview and save as PDF.
Save a full-page screenshot as a PNG
- Open the webpage in Firefox. Right-click an empty area of the page and choose Take Screenshot. Alternatively, use Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows or Linux, or Command+Shift+S on macOS.
- Select Save full page in the screenshot controls. This captures content beyond the visible browser window. Choose Save visible if you only need what is currently on screen; you can also select a region or an automatically highlighted page element.
- Choose Download to save a PNG in Firefox’s default download folder. Mozilla says the filename includes the capture date and time and the page title. Choose Copy instead to put the image on your clipboard.
- Open the saved image and check that the sections, text and images required for your report appear and are legible. A full-page capture does not guarantee that every site element will render correctly.

Choose the right format for the report

Choose PNG when appearance is the evidence you need. Choose PDF when content should flow across pages or you want text that can be selected. Those are practical format recommendations; Mozilla documents the available output methods and controls but does not prescribe a format for research reports.
Save a webpage as a PDF from Firefox
- Open Firefox’s Print… command to enter print preview.
- Set the destination to Save to PDF.
- Adjust the page range, orientation, color mode and any applicable options, such as paper size, scale, pages per sheet, margins, format, headers and footers, or backgrounds.
- Review the preview, then save the PDF. Mozilla cautions that webpages can be designed to appear differently on paper than on screen.
The Original or Simplified format option may be available. Simplified format disables printing backgrounds. For details, see Mozilla’s instructions for printing web pages in Firefox.

Save an offline copy instead of a screenshot
Use Save Page As when you need local webpage files rather than one image or a print-layout document. Firefox offers these formats:
- Web page, complete: saves the page with pictures and creates a directory for supporting files. It may not preserve the original HTML link structure.
- Web page, HTML only: preserves the original HTML link structure but omits pictures.
- Text files: saves a text version without the original HTML link structure.
- All files: saves using that format option.

Capture a full page in Firefox for iOS
The iOS procedure uses the device’s screenshot interface, not Firefox’s desktop Take Screenshot menu:
- Take a screenshot using the device’s screenshot buttons.
- Open the screenshot preview and select Full Page.
- Tap Done and choose Save as PDF.

Where does Firefox save a downloaded full-page screenshot?
Firefox saves it in the browser’s default download folder. The downloaded filename includes the capture date and time and page title.
Can I copy the full-page screenshot without downloading it?
Yes. Choose Copy in the screenshot controls to put the image on the clipboard.

Is Firefox’s iOS full-page capture the same as the desktop screenshot tool?
No. The iOS route uses the device screenshot preview and saves the full-page capture as a PDF; desktop uses Firefox’s screenshot controls to download a PNG or copy the image.
