Use a Tally New Submission trigger in Zapier, then pass the submitted website URL to ScreenshotOne’s Take Website Screenshot action. Add a final Zap action if you need to store the image or send it somewhere. Before publishing, test the workflow with a sample submission and confirm that the screenshot output reaches the destination you expect.

What the workflow does

The workflow has three parts: Tally supplies the submission, Zapier passes the target URL to a screenshot action, and an optional final action stores or shares the result. The URL must be the website you want captured—not merely a link to the Tally response.

  1. A respondent submits a Tally form containing a website URL.
  2. Zapier’s Tally New Submission trigger starts the Zap.
  3. ScreenshotOne’s Take Website Screenshot action receives the URL and captures the page.
  4. An optional Zap action handles the returned output, such as sending it to a storage or messaging service.

Tally also provides submission PDF and preview URLs in its webhook example. Those are documents or previews of the form response; they are not screenshots of an arbitrary website entered by the respondent.

Before you build the Zap: decide where the URL comes from

Ask the respondent for a URL

Add a URL field to the Tally form and map that answer to ScreenshotOne’s required Website URL input. This is the most straightforward setup when respondents choose the page to capture. Test the field with a URL you control, and decide how your form should handle missing or malformed answers.

Use the page where an embedded form appears

If the form is embedded on the site being captured, Tally says the website page and query parameters can be forwarded to the form and saved using hidden fields. Whether this works depends on the embed type and implementation. Configure the supported embed behavior, save the originating page value in a hidden field, and verify that Zapier receives the expected URL in a sample submission before relying on it.

Set up Tally and Zapier

  1. Publish the form. Include a URL field unless you have verified an eligible embed-and-hidden-field setup.
  2. Create a Zap. Choose Tally as the trigger app and New Submission as the event, then select the correct form.
  3. Test the trigger. Use a sample submission and confirm that the trigger record contains the intended URL field and value.
  4. Add ScreenshotOne. Choose the Take Website Screenshot action. Map the URL answer (or verified hidden-field value) into the required Website URL field.
  5. Set capture options. Select only the settings your use case needs. The listed action includes format, response type, viewport dimensions, full-page capture, delay, and timeout. The appropriate values depend on the page and desired image.
  6. Handle the output. If you need a durable copy, notification, or another destination, add a relevant action after the screenshot step. First inspect what the connected action actually returns; the listing alone does not establish a universal output field or file-retention policy.
  7. Test the complete Zap. Check that the submitted URL reached the screenshot action, the page rendered as expected, and the returned output arrived in the intended destination. Publish only after the trigger and every downstream action work with a sample.

Choose capture settings for the page

ScreenshotOne’s Zapier action lists several controls. Their effect depends on the destination website, so validate the result rather than assuming one configuration fits every page.

When to use a webhook/API route instead

The direct Tally trigger plus ScreenshotOne action is the simpler documented route when the action exposes the settings and output your Zap needs. Use a custom route only when you need greater control over request handling or asynchronous result delivery.

Tally can POST submission data as JSON to an HTTP(S) webhook endpoint. Zapier’s Webhooks by Zapier can make API requests using GET, POST, PUT, or Custom Request. ScreenshotOne documents screenshot API options and an asynchronous mode that can deliver a result to a webhook. The exact request, authentication, response handling, and destination depend on the current ScreenshotOne API options; confirm them in its documentation before implementing a custom request.

Plan availability is separate from the direct integration: Tally describes its direct Zapier integration as free to Tally users, while Zapier’s help page, updated August 10, 2026, lists Webhooks by Zapier as unavailable on Free and available on Professional, Team, and Enterprise. Check your account and the live editor because plan packaging can change.

If you configure Tally’s own incoming webhook

Tally’s webhook endpoint must return a successful 2xx response within 10 seconds. Tally documents retries after 5 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 6 hours, and 1 day if delivery fails; after all retries fail, it says it sends a one-time email to the form owner and creator. These are Tally webhook rules, not timing guarantees for the direct Tally-to-Zapier trigger.

Keep credentials and private webhook URLs out of public form code. A Tally webhook payload’s fields collection can carry submission data, but do not confuse its submission PDF or preview links with the screenshot result.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Test and troubleshoot before publishing

  • The screenshot action has no URL: the wrong form field may have been mapped, the sample submission may predate the field value, or the hidden field may not be receiving the embed-origin URL. Submit a fresh test response and inspect the trigger data, then remap the correct value.
  • The result shows the form response rather than the submitted site: check that the mapped value is the website URL, not Tally’s submission PDF or preview URL.
  • The capture is blank or incomplete: inspect the target URL, viewport, full-page setting, delay, and timeout. Test with a page you control and adjust the listed capture settings; no setting guarantees the same result across all sites.
  • The next Zap step cannot use the screenshot: inspect the screenshot action’s tested output and determine whether it provides the type of result the destination step accepts. Do not assume an output field or permanent file link without checking the connected action.
  • The webhook route is unavailable: check whether your Zapier plan currently includes Webhooks by Zapier and whether the action is available in the editor. This plan gate applies to the webhook route, not necessarily the direct integration.
  • Tally webhook delivery fails: confirm the endpoint is reachable over HTTP(S) and returns a 2xx response within Tally’s 10-second limit. Review the retry behavior and failure email if the endpoint does not acknowledge delivery.

Performance, reliability, and cost considerations

A screenshot job adds work to a form-triggered workflow, and page rendering varies with the destination site and chosen capture settings. Test representative URLs and check the final image, rather than treating a successful Zap test as proof that every submitted page will render completely.

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. From Zapier, a Webhooks/API request can send the submitted URL to its one-call endpoint; keep the API key private and map the submitted URL into the request. The response can be PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF.

For example, using cURL with a URL supplied by the form:

What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp

In an automated Zap, substitute the mapped form URL for the example target and configure response handling for the format and destination you need. See the ScreenshotNeo documentation for API details. Cookie/consent banners are accepted like a visitor and removed along with 60+ known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets; each step can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and response headers identify the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf tools for AI agents.

ScreenshotNeo’s Free plan includes 1,000 shots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots. Sign up for ScreenshotNeo and start with 1,000 free screenshots a month, no card required.
