To copy a webpage screenshot with FireShot, open the page, choose whether to capture the visible area, a selected region, or the entire page, then use FireShot’s clipboard output and paste into your destination app. The exact button sequence can vary by browser and extension version.

Choose what part of the page to capture

FireShot offers three capture extents: the visible area, a selected area, and the entire webpage. Its usage guide describes entire-page capture as including content below the part currently visible without scrolling.

  • Visible area: captures the portion currently on screen.
  • Selected area: lets you define a region to capture.
  • Entire page: captures page content extending below the viewport.

Capture the page and copy it

  1. Open the webpage you want to capture.
  2. Launch FireShot using its red “S” toolbar button, the browser’s main menu, or the page’s context menu. The toolbar button’s default action is “Capture entire webpage and Edit,” according to FireShot’s guide.
  3. Choose the capture extent: visible area, selected area, or entire page. If the toolbar default is not the extent you want, choose a different FireShot capture action.
  4. When FireShot presents the available output actions or editor flow, choose the clipboard option—described as copying the screenshot to the clipboard.
  5. Switch to the destination app and paste using its paste command or keyboard shortcut.

FireShot’s product page and browser listings document copying a screenshot to the clipboard. They do not establish one universal sequence of buttons for every current browser and extension version, so look for the clipboard action in the options shown by your installed version.

If you need a file instead of a clipboard image

FireShot also lists saving captures in formats such as PDF, PNG, GIF, JPEG, and BMP, along with printing, email, and external export options. Its site describes editing actions including crop, resize, highlighting, blur, and annotations. Check the options available in your installed edition; the vendor’s product materials note that availability can depend on the edition.

Troubleshooting

  • You cannot find the clipboard action: FireShot’s button sequence can vary by browser and version. Open its available actions or editor flow after capture and look for the clipboard option.
  • The screenshot covers the wrong area: Choose visible-area, selected-area, or entire-page capture deliberately rather than relying on the toolbar’s default “Capture entire webpage and Edit” action.
  • The page capture misses content or looks different from the live page: FireShot’s documentation does not guarantee identical results on every dynamic or restricted webpage. The available evidence does not establish a universal fix; check the page and the capture extent, and try again if the content has finished loading.
  • You are looking at API instructions for an ordinary toolbar capture: FireShot’s API is a separate integration path, not required for manual captures. Its documentation says the API must be enabled in FireShot options and lists browser and minimum-version prerequisites.
