Safari on a MacBook Air does not have a documented built-in command for stitching a webpage’s scroll positions into one tall screenshot. For a complete saved webpage, use Safari’s Web Archive format. For an image of what is currently visible, use the Mac screenshot shortcuts. If you specifically need one long image, you’ll need a compatible third-party capture tool or a screenshot API.
Choose the right kind of capture

Save the whole webpage in Safari
Use this when you need to keep a page for offline reference and do not require a single image file.
- Open the webpage in Safari.
- Choose File > Save As.
- In the format menu, choose Web Archive.
- Choose where to save it and save the file.
Apple describes Web Archive as a way to save a webpage with its graphics and links. Links still depend on their destination pages remaining available, and some websites may prevent Safari from saving items shown on the page. A Web Archive is not a tall screenshot.
When Page Source is the better choice
Choose Page Source instead if you need the page’s HTML for inspection or development. It saves source code only; it is not a visual screenshot or a complete visual archive.

Capture what is visible on screen
On supported Mac models, Shift-Command-5 opens the Screenshot app, where you can choose a capture mode. Apple lists macOS 10.14 Mojave as the minimum for opening the app with this shortcut.
- Shift-Command-3: capture the entire screen.
- Shift-Command-4: select an area to capture.
- Shift-Command-5: open the Screenshot app and choose a capture option, including its timer and save destination settings.
These choices capture the screen or a selected area; they do not automatically scroll through and combine the full webpage. Apple’s guidance for supported Mac models running macOS Tahoe 26 or later distinguishes PNG for SDR capture and HEIF for HDR capture.

Collect separate screenshots while scrolling
If separate images are acceptable, you can scroll the page and capture each visible section. Safari lists the Space bar and Page Down as ways to scroll down by about a screen.
- Position the webpage at its beginning and capture the visible portion with Shift-Command-4 or the Screenshot app.
- Scroll down by a screen with Space bar or Page Down.
- Capture the next portion and repeat until you reach the end.
This creates separate image files, not one stitched image. Overlap the captured sections slightly if you’ll be assembling them yourself, so you have visual reference for where one image meets the next.

Use printing when a document is acceptable
Safari’s shortcut guide lists Command-P to print the current webpage. That is a document-oriented route to explore if your goal is a readable record rather than an image. The available print-dialog controls and the handling of dynamically loaded page content are not established here, so check the options shown on your Mac rather than assuming the output will include every element or match a particular layout.

Troubleshoot common problems
The screenshot only shows part of the page
The built-in screenshot shortcuts capture the screen or a selected area, not a complete scrolling page. Save a Web Archive if an offline webpage will do, take multiple separate screenshots, or use a compatible tool designed for full-page capture.
The Web Archive is missing page items
Some sites can prevent Safari from saving items displayed on a page. The saved archive may therefore be incomplete; try another format or capture method if a missing item is essential.

The saved links no longer open
Web Archive retains links, but the destination webpages must remain available. The archive does not guarantee that linked pages will work offline.
You cannot find the Screenshot app shortcut
Apple lists macOS 10.14 Mojave as the minimum for opening the Screenshot app with Shift-Command-5. On an older macOS version, use the screenshot shortcuts available to that system or save the webpage through Safari instead.
