Use a trusted personal device, open your bank by typing its official web address, and save or print only the page you need. Before sharing the result, inspect the entire file and use genuine redaction for sensitive details. A browser save, printout, or screenshot is an export—not a privacy filter.
Start with a safe banking session
- Use a device you control and a current browser. Avoid public computers or shared terminals for financial transactions, as advised in the Ministry of Home Affairs information security guidance.
- Go to the bank by typing its official address into the browser instead of following an unexpected email or SMS link. Indian Bank’s security guidance recommends typing its official address when accessing its banking site.
- Capture only the information needed for your record or the recipient’s task. Account numbers and online financial information are confidential; Indian Bank warns customers not to share them. Bank of India likewise lists account details, card numbers, CVV, PIN, and banking credentials as sensitive financial information in its security guideline.
Do not send anyone a live banking session or an unredacted account record when a sanitized copy will do.
Save or print the page using the browser
Chrome desktop examples are below; labels and available options vary by operating system and browser version. These steps describe export controls, not a bank-specific guarantee that every portal can be captured as a complete page.

Save a webpage
- With the required page open, select More tools > Save page as in Chrome.
- Choose a location you control and save the page. Chrome’s available save formats and behavior can depend on the page and platform.
- Open the saved result and check whether it includes all the content you need. If you need a portable, shareable record, consider printing to PDF instead.
Google documents the save-page workflow in Chrome Help; it does not claim that saving removes account information.

Print to PDF
- In Chrome desktop, choose File > Print, or use the browser’s print shortcut.
- In the print dialog, choose a PDF destination if your system offers one, review the preview and page count, then save the file.
- Open the resulting PDF and inspect all pages before treating it as complete.
Chrome Help documents printing in its print a page instructions. Printing and saving do not automatically conceal account data. A print preview may paginate, omit interactive content, or differ from the live page; verify the output rather than assuming it is a full-page record.
Review the exported file before sharing
Inspect the saved page, image, or PDF from beginning to end. Check headers, footers, side panels, tables, and content farther down the page. Look for account numbers, names, balances, transaction references, addresses, and any other information the recipient does not need. This careful review is especially important because browser export instructions do not promise to filter sensitive data.

If you need a visual record for yourself, keep the original private. If you plan to share a copy, create a separate sanitized file and inspect that copy before sending it. Do not upload or provide live account details as part of a capture workflow.

Redact PDF content, not just its appearance
A black rectangle or markup drawn over text is not proof that the information underneath has been removed. Google Chromebook Help warns that drawing over PDF content does not redact it: “You can still access the underlying images or text.” Use a dedicated PDF redaction tool that removes the underlying content, rather than a drawing or annotation feature.

- Work on a copy of the PDF, not the only original.
- Apply actual redaction to each detail that should not be shared.
- Save the redacted copy as a new file.
- Reopen it and verify that covered text cannot be selected, copied, or recovered from the document. This is a prudent check, not a guarantee about any particular redaction product.
If you cannot confirm that the sensitive content has been removed, do not share the file. The cited guidance establishes the distinction between drawing over content and redaction; it does not endorse or test a particular PDF tool.
Log out and close the session
When finished, log out of internet banking and close the browser. Indian Bank includes this advice in its security guidance. Keep or share only the sanitized copy when one is needed.
