Browshot documents full-page website screenshots with the API setting size=page, but its reviewed documentation does not establish a direct PDF export option or a supported way to convert the result to PDF. You can use Browshot to capture the page as an image; the PDF-generation step remains unresolved in its documentation.
What Browshot can capture
In Browshot’s documented API, size=page requests a full-page screenshot; the default, size=screen, captures the visible screen. Browshot says a full-page screenshot can reach a height of up to 15,000 pixels. That is a documented maximum, not a guarantee that every page or capture will reach that height. See the Browshot API documentation.
The API documentation describes screenshot output as an image, including PNG. It does not document a PDF-export parameter. The command-line guide likewise covers retrieving an image, not producing a PDF. So the documented steps below create a screenshot image, not a confirmed full-page PDF.
Request a full-page screenshot
Set the screenshot size to page in your Browshot request. The exact authentication and instance parameters depend on your Browshot account and chosen API endpoint; consult its API documentation for the request format. The essential setting is:

size=pageChoose screen instead when you only need the currently visible viewport. Set the desktop viewport width and height to control the browser’s layout before capture; a full-page capture extends beyond the viewport vertically, but its rendered layout can still depend on the viewport width.
Wait for page content
Browshot documents delay as time allowed for JavaScript to run after page load; its default is five seconds. The optional max_wait sets a maximum wait before the PageLoad event is triggered. Dynamic pages may need a longer delay, but increasing it adds time to the capture and does not guarantee that every asynchronous element will finish loading.

Handle lazy-loaded content
Some pages only load images or other content as the visitor scrolls. Browshot’s script guide demonstrates scrolling to the bottom before taking a full-page screenshot. The script must finish within the request’s configured delay; the guide’s example uses a ten-second delay. Use a scroll script when the target page’s lazy-loaded content is missing from a normal full-page capture, and allow enough delay for the script to run. See the Browshot script guide.
Cache and other capture choices
Browshot documents cache reuse versus requesting a new capture, popup hiding, and browser choice as configuration options. Use a fresh capture when the page may have changed and you do not want a cached result. Popup hiding and browser choice may affect what appears in the output; select them according to the page and purpose of the capture.

Retrieve and check the result
Browshot’s simple-API documentation describes a successful response as a PNG screenshot or thumbnail. Its documented response codes include 200 for success, 302 when capture is in progress, and 400 or 404 for an invalid request or failed capture. The command-line guide illustrates following redirects to retrieve the image.

200, save the returned image and confirm it includes the full page. - For
302, follow the redirect or otherwise retrieve the completed capture as described in Browshot’s CLI guide. - For
400or404, check the request parameters and capture status against the API documentation.
Can you turn the Browshot image into a PDF?
The official Browshot API and CLI material reviewed here does not specify a PDF-export setting or a supported image-to-PDF procedure. Therefore, it would be misleading to describe size=page as a PDF option or claim that Browshot itself returns a PDF. If you specifically need PDF output, confirm a conversion workflow that meets your requirements separately; no such workflow is established by the Browshot documentation cited here.

Troubleshooting a full-page capture
- The output shows only the visible screen: Check that the request uses
size=page, not the defaultscreen. - Images or content are missing: The page may load content only after scrolling. Try the documented JavaScript scrolling approach and allow enough
delayfor it to finish. - Content is still changing when captured: Increase
delayto allow more time for JavaScript after page load.max_waitcontrols the maximum wait before the PageLoad event; it is not a guarantee that all site-specific asynchronous activity has completed. - The request returns
302: Browshot documents this as capture in progress. Follow the redirect or retrieve the result using the CLI guide’s documented approach. - The request returns
400or404: Browshot lists these for an invalid request or capture failure. Review the request parameters and capture outcome in the API documentation. - You need a PDF rather than an image: The Browshot materials cited here do not document PDF export. Do not treat a successful PNG capture as a PDF.
