Capture a full page with the Awesome Screenshot extension
- Open the webpage you want to capture in Chrome.
- Click the Awesome Screenshot icon in the browser toolbar. If you do not see it, click Chrome’s puzzle-piece Extensions menu and pin Awesome Screenshot.
- Select Capture, then select Full Page.
- Review the capture and annotate it if needed. Save or finish using the choices shown in your version of the extension; available destinations can depend on its current settings.
Awesome Screenshot’s help center describes this as its full-page or scrolling screenshot workflow. The vendor’s cross-browser instructions were published December 24, 2025: Awesome Screenshot Help Center.
Use the keyboard shortcut
The documented default shortcut for Capture > Full Page is Alt+Shift+F. To change it, open the extension’s Options and choose Set shortcuts, or visit chrome://extensions/shortcuts. Chrome and extension settings can vary by version, so check the shortcut shown in your browser if the default does not work.
Install or pin Awesome Screenshot
- Open the extension’s Chrome Web Store details page, select Add to Chrome, then confirm with Add extension.
- If its icon is not visible in the toolbar, click the puzzle-piece Extensions menu.
- Pin Awesome Screenshot so its icon stays available in the toolbar.

When Full Page is unavailable or fails
Chrome blocks the page
Chrome restricts extension access on some pages, including URLs beginning with chrome://, Chrome Web Store pages, settings pages, and other extensions’ pages. Full Page and Selected Area may therefore be unavailable there. The vendor’s suggested alternatives are Visible Part or Entire Screen & App Window, then cropping the result if needed. Its help material also points to Windows and Mac desktop apps for certain cases. See Awesome Screenshot’s page-access guidance.
A normal webpage produces an incomplete capture
If Full Page is available on an ordinary webpage but the capture fails or is incomplete, the vendor asks users to provide the page URL for investigation. If requested, gather the page-console and extension service-worker console information. The shortcut alone or reinstalling is not a guaranteed fix; follow the support team’s diagnostics for the specific failure. See Awesome Screenshot’s troubleshooting guidance.

Choose an alternative when the extension workflow does not fit
If you need an image or document but do not specifically need Awesome Screenshot’s annotation and sharing workflow, its vendor guide also documents Chrome DevTools’ Capture full size screenshot command and Chrome’s Print > Save as PDF route. The guide dates from approximately 2023, so treat these as documented options rather than a guarantee that labels and behavior are identical in every current Chrome version. Not necessarily. Chrome restricts extension access to internal and other restricted pages, so use a visible-part or screen-and-window capture and crop if available.
