In desktop Chrome, open the GST Portal page and wait until its tables, totals, and status labels have loaded. Then open DevTools, press Ctrl+Shift+P on Windows or Linux—or Command+Shift+P on Mac—type screenshot, and choose the full-page or full-size screenshot command shown in your Chrome version. Save and inspect the image. It is a visual record of the rendered page, not an official return, filing confirmation, or receipt.
Capture the GST Portal page in Chrome
- Open the exact screen you need. Navigate to the relevant GST Portal page and select the return period, application, or record, if applicable. Wait for its data, totals, and status labels to finish loading.
- Open Chrome DevTools. Right-click the page and choose Inspect, or use your usual DevTools shortcut.
- Open the Command Menu. Press Ctrl+Shift+P on Windows or Linux, or Command+Shift+P on macOS. Chrome documents this shortcut for the DevTools Command Menu. Chrome DevTools: Run commands in the Command Menu.
- Find the full-page capture command. Type screenshot and select the full-page or full-size screenshot option offered by your Chrome version. The exact wording can vary, so check the available command in your browser.
- Save and check the image. Use a filename that identifies the page and relevant period. Open the saved file and check that the intended top and bottom of the page are present and readable.
A full-page capture can include content beyond the visible viewport, but it does not guarantee that delayed, dynamic, or lazy-loaded content was captured. If a table or section has not loaded, wait for it before taking the screenshot.
When a portal PDF or receipt is better
Choose the record that matches your purpose. A screenshot preserves the rendered interface and its visual layout; it is an image, not searchable structured return data. If you need an official portal artifact, use the relevant GST workflow’s download option where one is available.

- Printable page copy: In Chrome, use File > Print or press Ctrl+P on Windows/Linux, or Command+P on Mac. Select a destination and print settings, then print or save as PDF. Chrome print-to-PDF creates a print-oriented document, not a full-page screenshot. See Chrome Help: Print from Chrome.
Protect and retain the record carefully
GST pages can show taxpayer or business details. Review the image before sharing it and store it somewhere appropriate for the information it contains. These are practical handling precautions; the cited material does not establish screenshot-specific GST retention or redaction rules.
