To check and adjust a racing wheel in Gran Turismo 7, open Options > Controllers > Steering Controller Settings. There you can inspect steering-controller inputs and adjust pedal sensitivity. Additional controls—such as rotation range, device-side sensitivity, and wheel centering—depend on your wheel model and may require the manufacturer’s software or instructions.
Check wheel and pedal inputs in GT7
- Connect the wheel and pedals as the manufacturer directs, then confirm that your PlayStation detects the controller.
- In GT7, go to Options > Controllers > Steering Controller Settings. Gran Turismo names this screen for checking connected steering-controller inputs and calibrating pedal sensitivity in its G923 compatibility notice.
- Turn the wheel and press each pedal through its travel while watching the displayed inputs. Check that each control responds and moves back toward its resting position when released. The notice does not set a universal numeric target for every wheel or pedal.
- Adjust pedal sensitivity in GT7 in small increments. Recheck the displayed input, then try the result in a low-stakes session. Gran Turismo’s notice gives the menu location, not a universal ideal setting.
GT7’s in-game adjustment and manufacturer software are separate settings layers. Change one at a time so you can tell which adjustment changed the response.
What to adjust for your wheel model
Logitech G923
GT7 supports the G923’s TRUEFORCE effects. For G923 vibration that is excessive or loud, Gran Turismo recommends Options > Controllers > Vibration Function, then lowering Vibration Strength. The setting is 100 by default according to the 2023 compatibility notice; this is a vibration setting, not a pedal calibration value.
If you connect the wheel to a PC, Logitech G HUB offers separate steering and pedal sensitivity adjustments. Logitech defines 50 as a linear 1:1 sensitivity ratio: values from 51 to 100 make the control more sensitive, while values from 1 to 49 make it less sensitive. These are G HUB controls, not GT7 presets. Logitech documents up to 900 degrees of wheel rotation for the G923 but does not recommend changing the range for every player. See Logitech’s G923 G HUB instructions.

Logitech G29 and G920
Logitech Gaming Software (LGS) provides steering sensitivity, operating-range, and accelerator, brake, and clutch sensitivity controls. Logitech documents a G29/G920 operating range of 40 to 900 degrees in 10-degree increments, with 900 degrees as the default. The range setting applies globally across games; sensitivity adjustments are described per game profile. Check LGS compatibility for your wheel before following the Logitech G29/G920 instructions; Logitech notes that not all racing wheels work with LGS 8.70 or later.
Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro
Fanatec’s Auto Setup profile lets a game control tuning values when that game supports the feature. Its sensitivity setting controls rotation degrees; Fanatec says Auto allows the PC driver or a supported game to control sensitivity. Brake Force is available only with a pedal set that has a load-cell brake. For centering or other button-combination functions, Fanatec directs users to the quick guide for the connected wheel. Firmware can change tuning parameters, so use documentation for your actual device. See the Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro documentation.

Thrustmaster wheel centering
Thrustmaster’s centering instructions are model-specific. Its FAQ describes a PC check using a 1080-degree control-panel rotation setting and the 50% axis marker. If the physical wheel is off-center, the FAQ advises resetting outside the game: in the console system menu on PS4 or PS5, or at the Windows desktop on PC with the Control Panel closed. The sequence is to connect USB, wait for auto-calibration, turn fully left, turn fully right, center the wheel, then press the button combination for the specific model. Confirm the exact model entry before using the Thrustmaster centering FAQ.

A pedal does not reach its full displayed range
- Check the pedal input on GT7’s Steering Controller Settings screen first.
- If your wheel has a manufacturer pedal utility, check its input there as a separate step.
- Adjust only controls documented for your specific device.
Pedal response feels too abrupt or too gradual
Start with GT7’s pedal sensitivity setting. If you use a G923, G HUB has a separate sensitivity adjustment; change one layer at a time to identify which setting affects the response.

The wheel is off-center
Use the manufacturer’s procedure for the exact model. Thrustmaster’s reset uses a model-specific button combination, while Fanatec directs users to the connected wheel’s quick guide for center calibration.
Force feedback or vibration is too strong
For the G923, Gran Turismo’s compatibility notice recommends adjusting the in-game Vibration Strength setting. Separately, GT7 Update 1.15 notes warn that very high Torque or Force Feedback Sensitivity under Controller Settings > Steering Force Feedback may cause violent vibration. That 2022 warning is specific to the update note; it does not establish that every wheel or current software version behaves the same way.

A setting has no effect
- Check whether you changed a GT7 setting or a manufacturer-side profile; they are separate controls.
- For Logitech G HUB or LGS adjustments, Logitech’s support steps require connecting the wheel to a PC.
- For Fanatec Auto Setup, the game must support the feature.
