Estimate YouTube membership revenue from the paid members and revenue recognized during a specific period—not from how many hours your stream ran. YouTube says creators receive 70% of membership revenue after applicable taxes and fees are deducted. The exact result depends on the channel’s actual membership data, adjustments, and terms.

Use the 70% share on recognized membership revenue

For a practical estimate, use:

Estimated creator membership revenue = recognized membership revenue × 0.70

YouTube Help states that creators get 70% of membership revenue after applicable taxes and fees are deducted. YouTube currently covers transaction costs, including credit-card fees. Its Commerce Product Module overview describes the share as 70% of net revenues from channel memberships. Because applicable deductions and individual channel agreements can affect the result, treat this as an estimate, not a guaranteed payout. Build an estimate from tiers

For a forecast, estimate the recognized revenue for the period from active paying members in each tier and that tier’s applicable price, then apply the 70% share after relevant deductions. Actual local pricing, taxes, refunds, and timing can change the recognized base and final earnings.

For illustration only, if 100 memberships were each at a hypothetical monthly price of $4.99, the simplified total before deductions would be $499; 70% of that simplified amount is $349.30. This example is arithmetic, not a YouTube price or payout promise.

Why 24/7 streaming does not multiply membership revenue

Memberships are recurring monthly payments exchanged for channel perks. A 24/7 stream does not create an hourly membership rate, so do not multiply a monthly estimate by 24 hours or by the number of days streamed. Longer availability may affect exposure and member acquisition, but YouTube’s reviewed official documentation provides no formula that converts stream hours into membership revenue. Find the numbers in YouTube Studio

  1. For revenue by period: In YouTube Studio, open Analytics → Revenue and choose the date range. YouTube directs creators to the Transactions Revenue card for transaction counts in a selected period.
  2. For the membership revenue breakdown: Select How you make money → Memberships, then set the date range or video-format filter you need.
  3. For member counts and trends: Check the Memberships tab and Analytics → Audience → Total Member for active or total membership information and gained, canceled, and lost member trends.
  4. Estimate the period: Use the actual tier mix and recognized revenue for the same dates. Avoid substituting the total number of stream hours for membership data.

Studio Analytics revenue is estimated. Finalized earnings appear in AdSense for YouTube and can differ from Studio estimates; refunds can reduce the creator’s share. Use Studio for an estimate and reconcile it with finalized AdSense for YouTube earnings. YouTube Help: channel memberships · YouTube Help: understand AdSense for YouTube earnings

What can change the final amount

  • Deductions: The 70% share is after applicable taxes and fees, not necessarily 70% of the displayed consumer price.
  • Member and tier mix: Active paying members and the prices applicable to their tiers determine the revenue base for the period.
  • Refunds and adjustments: These may make finalized earnings differ from an Analytics estimate.
  • Channel-specific terms and eligibility: Local pricing, membership eligibility, and the creator’s agreement can affect what applies. Check the channel’s current Studio account and terms rather than assuming one universal amount. YouTube Partner earnings overview · YouTube Help: channel memberships
  • Tax obligations: YouTube notes that creators may have tax obligations on YouTube income; keep appropriate records and consult a qualified tax professional about your circumstances. YouTube Help: channel memberships
