Turn on Automatic Verification in iCloud settings: open Settings, tap your name, choose Sign-In & Security, then enable Automatic Verification. Apple says this can privately verify your device and account to bypass many CAPTCHA challenges, but it cannot make every website or app skip its checks.
Turn on Automatic Verification
The setting is in the same place on iPhone and iPad. Apple’s current user guides use the menu label Sign-In & Security.

- Open Settings.
- Tap your name at the top of the screen.
- Tap Sign-In & Security.
- Turn on Automatic Verification.
Apple describes the feature as using iCloud to verify your device and account automatically and privately. See Apple’s iPhone instructions and iPad instructions.
Why a CAPTCHA may still appear
Automatic Verification can bypass many challenges, not all of them. Whether it works depends in part on the website, app, and verification provider supporting a compatible process. The setting does not let you change a third party’s security requirements.
#1 Best Overall
- This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
- Please check with your carrier to verify compatibility.
- The device does not come with headphones or a SIM card. It does include a generic (Mfi certified) charging cable.
- Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.
Apple’s Private Access Tokens are one example of that process: compatible servers can verify a client without identifying or recognizing it over time. Apple says Safari and WebKit can respond to supported token challenges automatically. The WWDC22 presentation describes iOS 16 or macOS Ventura and an Apple ID signed in as prerequisites for the token mechanism it covers; Apple’s current user-guide pages do not specify a minimum operating-system version for the Automatic Verification menu itself. Read Apple’s WWDC22 presentation on Private Access Tokens for the technical explanation.
What to do if challenges continue
- Return to Settings > [your name] > Sign-In & Security and confirm Automatic Verification is on.
- If the site or app still presents a challenge, complete its verification prompt.
- If you cannot complete the prompt or believe it is malfunctioning, contact the site or app’s support team.
These steps address the setting and the site’s own verification process; there is no universal user-side switch that forces every provider to accept automatic verification.

Why this matters for accessibility
Apple Developer presenter Tommy Pauly said, “CAPTCHAs can also pose a serious problem for accessibility,” noting that they can exclude people with disabilities or language barriers. Automatic Verification may reduce that friction, but it does not remove every challenge or guarantee that all access barriers are resolved. The statement appears in Apple’s Private Access Tokens presentation.
If you manage the website
A visitor’s iPhone or iPad setting cannot replace the site owner’s choice of anti-bot protections. Cloudflare describes Turnstile as a CAPTCHA alternative for websites, with managed, non-interactive, and invisible widget modes. Its documentation says managed mode decides whether to show a checkbox based on visitor risk and describes Turnstile as WCAG 2.2 AA compliant; those are Cloudflare’s claims about its own service, not a guarantee about every CAPTCHA alternative. See Cloudflare Turnstile documentation.
