You can send a Hindi online radio station to YouTube from an Android phone using a YouTube-compatible encoder app—but the station’s audio must reach that app, and you need the rights to stream and archive the programming. Create a YouTube Live stream, enter its server URL and stream key in an Android encoder, route in the radio feed, and add a suitable visual such as station artwork. YouTube’s mobile app flow is camera-oriented; it is not a reliable way to relay audio playing in a separate radio app.
What you need before starting
- A YouTube channel that can create a live stream and an Android phone compatible with your chosen encoder.
- A way to route the station’s actual program output into the encoder. If it comes from a separate mixer or player, this may require a compatible audio interface.
- A still image or other visual to accompany the radio audio.
- Permission for YouTube live simulcasting and archived playback in the relevant territories, including the required music rights.
For a phone-only setup, an encoder is the clearest documented route: YouTube’s encoder workflow provides a server URL and stream key, and its encoder list includes Android-capable apps such as PRISM Live Studio, Larix Broadcaster, and Streamlabs. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions explain the connection process.
Confirm YouTube eligibility and rights
Check mobile-live requirements
As of YouTube Help’s Android mobile-live page checked on October 3, 2026, using YouTube’s own mobile-live flow requires a verified channel with at least 50 subscribers, live streaming enabled, no live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days, and Android 8.0 or later. You may need to wait 24 hours after enabling live streaming before your first mobile broadcast. YouTube may limit mobile-live viewers for channels below 1,000 subscribers and set their archives to private by default. These are YouTube platform rules, not encoder-app requirements; verify the current requirements on YouTube’s mobile live-streaming help page.

Clear music and broadcast rights first
Do not assume that permission to operate an online radio station also grants permission to rebroadcast its programming on YouTube. You need the necessary rights for live and archived material in the relevant territories, including music rights from artists, labels, publishers, and other royalty participants. Local broadcast licensing, registration, consent, or notification rules may also apply. Review YouTube’s terms and confirm the rights with the station and relevant rights holders before going live.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match may replace the live image with a placeholder, interrupt the stream, or terminate it. Even when the station has a license, a rights owner may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist to avoid an interruption. Choose an Android encoder and plan the audio route
YouTube lists PRISM Live Studio, Larix Broadcaster, and Streamlabs among encoder options with Android support. The cited YouTube and app documentation does not establish a controlled quality comparison among them, so choose based on the audio routing and operating features you need rather than assuming one produces better sound.

For an external source, connect its output to a compatible phone audio interface, then select that input in the encoder. YouTube describes connecting external audio hardware to an encoder, and Streamlabs documents mobile audio settings. Compatibility depends on the exact phone, Android version, app, connector, and source output; the documentation does not validate a particular interface-and-phone combination.

Do not count on capturing sound from a separate radio-player app simply by opening YouTube or an encoder. The cited documentation does not establish that Android will route another app’s playback into your encoder. Route the station output directly, and confirm it is reaching the encoder before the broadcast.
Set up and start the YouTube broadcast
- Prepare the channel. In YouTube Studio, confirm live streaming is enabled and that the channel meets the current requirements for the method you plan to use. If you are using YouTube’s own Android mobile-live flow, check the eligibility rules above.
- Prepare the rights and Content ID arrangements. Confirm that the station’s permissions cover YouTube live simulcasting and archived playback. Ask rights holders whether your channel must be allowlisted in Content ID.
- Create or schedule the live stream. In YouTube Studio, create a live stream and open its encoder or stream settings. Copy the server URL and stream key shown for that stream.
- Configure the Android encoder. Install an Android encoder listed by YouTube, open its YouTube or custom RTMP stream setup, and enter the server URL and stream key from Studio. Keep the stream key private; anyone who has it may be able to broadcast to your stream.
- Choose a radio-friendly visual. Add station artwork or a program card showing the station or show name, host, and current segment. YouTube’s mobile-live flow is camera-oriented, so do not assume the YouTube app can present a title card while relaying audio from another app.
- Select and test the audio input. Choose the phone input or connected audio interface that carries the program feed. Confirm the mixer output is connected correctly and set a usable level in the encoder. Listen on headphones or another monitoring path so you can catch silence, distortion, or an incorrect source.
- Check the stream privately where available. Before announcing the broadcast, use a private or unlisted setup check if the stream’s settings allow it. Watch and listen from a second device, verify the artwork and audio, and check that the connection stays active. This is prudent operational practice, not a guarantee against later platform or rights interruptions.
- Start the encoder and monitor YouTube. Start the broadcast from the encoder, then confirm in YouTube Studio that the stream is receiving a picture and sound before sharing the live link.
Troubleshoot common problems
YouTube says mobile live streaming is unavailable
Check channel verification, subscriber eligibility, whether live streaming is enabled, any live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days, and the Android version. If you have only just enabled live streaming, allow for the possible 24-hour activation wait. Confirm the current rules on YouTube’s mobile live-streaming help page.

The stream is live, but the audio is silent
Check that the encoder is using the intended input, that the interface and mixer output are connected, and that the source is actually producing audio. If the sound is playing only inside another Android app, do not assume it is reaching the encoder; route the station feed into the phone’s selected audio input instead.

Check the output level at the mixer or player and the input level selected in the encoder. Monitor from a second device or through headphones, make one level adjustment at a time, and recheck for clipping or low volume before sharing the stream.

The image disappears or the stream is interrupted
A Content ID match can replace the image or disrupt or end a live stream. Confirm that the channel has the necessary rights and ask the relevant rights owner about Content ID allowlisting. A license alone does not guarantee that YouTube will avoid automated interruption.
The stream stops when you switch apps
Check the encoder’s background-broadcast support and current Android permissions. PRISM documents enabling “Allow display over other apps” for its Android background-broadcast option. Test that setting on the phone you will use; behavior can vary by app, device, and Android version.
The encoder will not connect
Confirm you copied the server URL and stream key for the correct YouTube stream, entered them in the encoder’s streaming settings, and have an active internet connection. If the key may have been exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder with the new key.
