There is no verified direct Bitcoin-mainnet-to-Sui-mainnet transfer route established here. Sui Bridge currently documents an Ethereum-to-Sui route, not a native BTC deposit. Before moving funds, identify whether you hold BTC on Bitcoin or a tokenized asset such as WBTC, then confirm that a live provider explicitly supports your exact source network, Sui mainnet, and the destination token you expect.
First, identify what “Bitcoin to Sui” means
The phrase can describe two different transfers: moving native BTC from the Bitcoin network, or moving a Bitcoin-linked token that already exists on another blockchain. Those are not interchangeable. A service mentioning Bitcoin and Sui does not, by itself, establish that it accepts native BTC or that its route is live on mainnet.
- Native BTC: bitcoin held on Bitcoin mainnet. The current Sui Bridge interface does not document a direct route from Bitcoin mainnet to Sui mainnet.
- WBTC or another tokenized asset: a token representing or linked to Bitcoin on another network. The source network, token issuer, redemption design, and bridge route determine what you are actually transferring.
Sui’s bridging explainer uses WBTC as an example of wrapped Bitcoin. That does not make WBTC native BTC, nor does it show that every WBTC token can be bridged to Sui.
What Sui’s current materials establish
The Sui Bridge interface documents an Ethereum-to-Sui route and displays an ETH transfer form. Sui’s mainnet launch guide likewise describes that bridge route. These sources do not substantiate a direct native-BTC-to-Sui transfer.
#1 Best Overall
- BITCOIN EXCLUSIVE, PHONE VERIFICATION: Bitkey is designed from the ground up exclusively for bitcoin — a dedicated hardware wallet for secure bitcoin storage. Approve transactions with a tap using your phone and NFC. No device screen is required.
- SELF-CUSTODY, NO EXCHANGE OR CUSTODIAN REQUIRED: You hold two of the three keys in the Bitkey system – one on your phone and one on your Bitkey device. The third is stored on Bitkey’s server and cannot move your bitcoin on its own.
- NO SEED PHRASE: Set up and use Bitkey without creating or storing a seed phrase.
- 2-of-3 MULTISIG: Three keys are stored separately across your phone, Bitkey device, and Bitkey’s server. Any two keys are required to move your bitcoin.
- BUILT-IN RECOVERY: Encrypted backup and recovery tools can help you regain access if you lose your phone or Bitkey device. You can also designate a Recovery Contact.
Sui’s BTCfi material discusses Bitcoin-linked assets including WBTC and Lombard’s LBTC. Hashi’s site identifies itself as devnet and describes hBTC. WBTC, LBTC, and hBTC should not be treated as interchangeable: their backing, issuance, custody or signer assumptions, transfer mechanisms, and redemption paths can differ. A devnet mention is not proof of a production mainnet route.
How to verify a route before moving funds
- Check your source asset and network. Confirm whether the asset is native BTC on Bitcoin, WBTC on Ethereum, or another token on a named chain. Read the wallet’s network label and the asset’s contract or issuer information rather than relying on a ticker alone.
- Use the provider’s official documentation and app. Verify that both the exact source network and Sui mainnet are named, and that the documentation identifies the precise token arriving on Sui. A search result, token listing, or promotional page is not enough.
- Confirm mainnet status and the return path. Check the provider’s live interface and status information, plus how the destination asset can be redeemed or transferred back. Do not infer a withdrawal route from a one-way deposit form.
- Check the destination wallet and application. Obtain the Sui address from a wallet you control and make sure the Sui app where you plan to use the asset supports that exact token. Sui describes wallets as tools for key storage and transaction signing in its wallet documentation.
- Review the live transaction terms. Before signing, inspect fees, limits, confirmation stages, estimated timing, and any approval permissions shown by the provider. These details can change; do not rely on stale fee quotes or a timing estimate for a different route.
- Protect your keys. Use only the provider’s official interface. No legitimate bridge transfer requires you to disclose your seed phrase or private key.
If you are using Sui Bridge from Ethereum
This is an Ethereum-to-Sui procedure, not a Bitcoin-mainnet deposit. The Sui launch guide describes connecting both wallets, selecting a supported asset and amount, approving an allowance if prompted, signing the transaction, and tracking its progress.

- Open the official Sui Bridge interface and connect the Ethereum wallet holding a supported asset.
- Connect the Sui wallet that will receive the funds, then confirm the displayed destination address and selected networks.
- Select only an asset and amount the interface supports. Review any token approval allowance carefully before approving it.
- Sign the required transactions in the relevant wallets and track the transfer through the interface. The guide says Ethereum-to-Sui transfers may take around 10 minutes to finalize in most cases because Ethereum has probabilistic finality; that estimate should not be applied to a Bitcoin route.
Common mistakes that can cost time or funds
- Sending native BTC to an address for another network: Bitcoin and Sui use different networks and address systems. Do not paste a Sui address into a Bitcoin withdrawal or send BTC to an address supplied for a token bridge unless the official provider explicitly documents that exact flow.
- Assuming all “BTC” tokens are the same: Tickers can hide differences in issuer, contract, backing, and redemption. Verify the exact token and source chain.
- Confusing devnet with mainnet: A devnet demonstration or asset page does not establish that users can transfer real funds on Sui mainnet.
- Checking only the source side: Confirm the destination token, Sui wallet compatibility, and intended app support before sending.
- Ignoring Sui transaction costs: Sui mainnet activity requires SUI or MIST for transaction payment, according to its transaction payment documentation. Make sure the receiving wallet can cover any needed Sui-side activity.
- Reusing timing or fee claims from another route: Transfer duration and costs depend on the provider, networks, and live conditions. The Ethereum-to-Sui timing described by Sui is not a Bitcoin-to-Sui estimate.
What to compare if a verified route becomes available
Do not rank providers unless their live mainnet routes and terms are verified. For any route you consider, compare the following details in the provider’s official materials and interface:
