For a continuous, ordered queue of recorded Punjabi podcast episodes, use OBS Studio with its VLC Video Source: add the files in order, turn shuffle off, and enable looping only if you want the queue to repeat. Then send OBS’s output to YouTube Live. YouTube’s Live Streaming API manages broadcast and stream resources; it does not play your episode files. This creates a livestream of prerecorded episodes, not a live conversation.
Choose the right kind of broadcast
First decide whether you need one continuous feed or separate scheduled events. YouTube’s API guide distinguishes the viewable event from the incoming feed: a liveBroadcast is the event viewers watch, while a liveStream carries the encoder’s feed. Google describes a broadcast as “an event that can be watched on YouTube as it happens.” The guide covers both recurring distinct broadcasts that reuse a stream and a 24/7 feed that can coexist with separate broadcast videos. See the YouTube broadcasts and streams guide.
- Continuous queue: Use OBS and VLC playlist controls when episodes should play one after another in a single ongoing feed, optionally repeating.
- Separate episode events: Schedule distinct broadcasts if each episode needs its own event and archive. The API implementation guide describes creating scheduled events with
liveBroadcasts.insert, including a title, scheduled start time and privacy status, and configuring aliveStreamfor transmission. The encoder or another playout service must still play and transmit the files. See the YouTube API implementation guide.
The YouTube Live Streaming API can automate event and stream-resource management, but it does not provide the episode playout queue. For API reference, see YouTube Live Streaming API documentation.

Prepare the episodes and confirm eligibility
Check files and permissions
- Use episode files that play correctly on the computer running OBS. Keep the intended order in a stable list.
- Confirm that you have the rights needed to livestream every episode, including music, clips, guest contributions and other third-party material. YouTube live content must comply with its Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.
- Tell viewers clearly that the feed is prerecorded if its presentation could otherwise suggest a live conversation. A live encoder does not make recorded episodes interactive or newly recorded.
Check the channel before scheduling
YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility help page says a channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. It also says streamers must be at least 16 years old. Requirements and channel status can change, so check YouTube Studio at setup time rather than assuming the channel is eligible.

Build an ordered episode queue in OBS
OBS Project documents the VLC Video Source as a way to play multiple media files as a playlist. VLC must be installed for this source to appear in OBS. The documented source is available on Windows, macOS and Linux; see OBS Project’s Media Sources guide.
- Install VLC on the computer that will run OBS, then open OBS Studio.
- In the scene where the podcast video should appear, add a VLC Video Source. If it is not available, confirm VLC is installed, then restart OBS.
- Add the episode files to the source playlist in the order you want them to air. Check that each file is present and locally playable.
- Leave Shuffle off to preserve the listed order. Turn on Loop only if the queue should begin again after the final episode.
- Set up the rest of the scene, including any static artwork or other visuals you intend to show, and verify that audio is routed correctly.
- Play through the queue in a private test or preview before going public. Check episode transitions, picture, audio level and whether the source behaves as expected at the end of the list.
OBS’s documentation establishes the playlist, loop and shuffle controls; it does not promise unattended recovery if OBS, the computer, network or media playback stops.

Connect OBS to YouTube Live and test the full path
- In YouTube Studio, create or select the broadcast and obtain the stream delivery details for the encoder. Treat the stream key as a secret: do not include it in a public screen recording, shared document or chat.
- In OBS, open Settings > Stream, select YouTube as the service, and provide the stream key or use the available account connection flow.
- Apply the delivery settings shown for the YouTube stream in Studio, then start the OBS stream while the broadcast is private or otherwise not public.
- Confirm YouTube receives a healthy preview and that both audio and video are present. Check that the correct episode is playing and that playlist order is right before making the broadcast public or scheduling it.
- Plan who will respond to interruptions. The operator should be able to check the encoder, network and media files and restart or correct the feed if needed.
This workflow relies on a local encoder and the availability of its computer, files and network connection. The reviewed OBS and API documentation does not establish unattended recovery for interruptions.

StreamYard documents scheduling a prerecorded video to YouTube so it starts at the chosen time and ends when that video finishes. Its instructions describe selecting a prerecorded video for a scheduled stream, and its documentation gives plan-specific maximum durations. It also says prerecorded outputs are not automatically saved to the library. See StreamYard’s prerecorded streaming guide and its stream scheduling guide. Check current plan limits and feature availability before relying on them.

- Blue VO!CE software: Elevate your streamings and recordings with clear broadcast vocal sound and entertain your audience with enhanced effects, advanced modulation and HD audio samples
- Four pickup patterns: Flexible cardioid, omni, bidirectional, and stereo pickup patterns allow you to record in ways that would normally require multiple mics, for vocals, instruments and podcasts
- Onboard audio controls: Headphone volume, pattern selection, instant mute, and mic gain put you in charge of every level of the audio recording and streaming process
- Positionable design: Pivot the mic in relation to the sound source to optimize your sound quality thanks to the adjustable desktop stand and track your voice in real time with no-latency monitoring
This is an option to consider for airing one selected episode at a scheduled time without running a local encoder. The cited documentation does not establish that you can edit and play a sequence of multiple episode files as one continuous scheduled broadcast, so do not assume it replaces an ordered queue.
