Use different strategies for these two games: Void Stranger is built around Sokoban-style grid puzzles where moves affect both routes and enemy positions, while End of Abyss emphasizes scanning, exploration, gear, and returning to paths that new tools unlock. The available official descriptions do not establish that the games share a cryptic-puzzle system, so don’t assume a trick from one applies to the other.

What kind of puzzle are you facing?

Game Documented problem type Useful first approach
Void Stranger A 2D Sokoban-style game in which every step matters, according to its Steam store listing. A mechanics overview describes moving solid tiles onto reachable holes with the Void Rod, alongside enemies that move in response to player actions. (Thinky Games) Map the room, plan a route, and forecast enemy turns before committing.
End of Abyss Official descriptions focus on scanning points of interest, exploring branching routes, using gear, and returning to areas as paths become accessible. They do not specify a cryptic grid-puzzle system. (PlayStation; Xbox Wire) Scan, explore alternate routes, and revisit blocked areas after acquiring tools or abilities.

How to work through a Void Stranger room

Read the board before moving

Identify walkable solid tiles, holes, obstacles, the exit, and each enemy’s position. If a tile can be moved with the Void Rod, consider how shifting it changes the route and whether it can be moved into a position that makes the hole reachable. Avoid treating a move as an isolated action: it may alter what you can reach next.

Include enemy turns in your plan

Thinky Games describes enemies as following movement patterns and moving one tile for each player action. Before stepping or shifting a tile, consider where that move leaves both you and the enemies. Re-check the board after every input; a route that looks open now may not remain safe after an enemy moves.

Experiment carefully

Thinky Games reports that Void Stranger has no undo option. Before committing to a risky sequence, trace a few moves ahead and account for the resulting enemy positions. If the room stops making sense, pause instead of repeating a move at random.

How to make progress in End of Abyss

Use the exploration tools the game documents

Scan points of interest, follow branching routes, and use the gear or tools you unlock. When a corridor or route appears inaccessible, remember it and return after gaining a new ability. The official descriptions support this exploration-and-backtracking approach; they do not establish specific rules for cryptic puzzles, so avoid importing Void Stranger’s tile or enemy mechanics.

How to get help without spoiling the solution

Take a break before opening a guide

The official Void Stranger Steam listing advises: “If a puzzle seems impossible, get some rest”. It also suggests asking someone for help. A fresh look or a nudge from another person can preserve more discovery than jumping straight to a full solution.

Escalate from hints to walkthroughs

The Steam Community guide catalogue lists user-created spoiler-free and spoiler-light progression guides, as well as complete puzzle solutions and walkthroughs. Start with a guide explicitly labeled for minimal spoilers, and stop at the relevant hint rather than browsing further. Guide labels are not a guarantee about every detail, so avoid titles, links, or surrounding text that might reveal later surprises. The catalogue documents spoiler-level options for Void Stranger; it does not establish an equivalent guide resource for End of Abyss.
