Apply through SBI Card’s official online application flow; approval depends on the issuer’s assessment. After approval, you can try adding the card in Google Pay from your profile’s debit/credit card option and complete OTP verification. SBI Card says Google Pay card registration is currently available only to limited users, so it may not appear for every cardholder.
What to check before applying
SBI Card’s published Most Important Terms and Conditions (MITC) lists a ₹499 annual fee for the Google Pay Flex SBI Card. The annual fee is waived if your annual spends reach ₹1 lakh or more in the preceding year. Charges and eligibility terms can change, so check the current SBI Card MITC before you apply.
SBI Card’s homepage advertises a welcome gift worth ₹1,000 on Google Pay and the opportunity to earn up to 18,000 Stars in a year. Those are headline claims, not a guarantee of what you will receive: the product summary does not state all qualification rules, timing or offer duration. Check the current offer terms on SBI Card’s official site before relying on either benefit.
How to apply for the Google Pay Flex SBI Card

Go to SBI Card’s official application page and follow the application flow for the Google Pay Flex SBI Card.

Enter the requested information in the official form. The page asks for your name as it appears on your PAN, mobile number, PAN, occupation, annual income, email address and city. Do not send these details to a publisher or another person.

If your city is not listed, the application page directs you to visit your nearest SBI branch.

Submit the application and wait for SBI Card’s decision. The issuer assesses applications using multiple parameters; submitting the form does not guarantee approval.

How to add an SBI credit card to Google Pay
Once you have the card, use the current prompts in the official Google Pay and SBI Card apps. SBI Card’s instructions describe this sequence:

Open Google Pay, go to your profile and choose the debit/credit card option.

Enter the credit-card number, expiry date, CVV and any other details requested in the app.

Accept the terms and complete the OTP authentication. SBI Card says the OTP is sent to the mobile number registered with SBI Card.

Never share your card number, CVV or OTP with another person, or send screenshots that show them. SBI Card describes tokenisation as replacing sensitive card information with a token for payments; that does not make authentication codes safe to share. See the issuer’s Google Pay FAQ and card tokenisation instructions for its current guidance.

Where you can use the card in Google Pay
SBI Card lists NFC Tap & Pay at compatible payment terminals, Bharat QR payments, and selected online or in-app payments. Availability is limited: the issuer says the feature is currently available only to limited users on the Google Pay platform. A cardholder may therefore be unable to register the card even after receiving it.
If the card option is missing or registration fails, check the current Google Pay prompts and SBI Card’s instructions, then contact support through the official app or SBI Card website. SBI Card’s FAQ publishes Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or higher as its device-compatibility statement; because software requirements can change, verify current Google Pay requirements as well.
Optional: Pay in EMI through Google Pay
SBI Card publishes a Pay in EMI facility through Google Pay for eligible select primary cardholders. Its terms state a minimum booking amount of ₹2,500 and list 3-, 6-, 9-, 12-, 18-, 24- and 36-month tenures, subject to the applicable offer terms. This is an optional facility after approval, not part of applying for or adding the card. Review the issuer’s current Pay in EMI terms before booking.
