For a Karachi Board HSC-I paper, apply to the Board of Intermediate Education, Karachi (BIEK) using its scrutiny form. The form lists a fee of Rs. 1,000 per paper and requires a photocopy of the HSC marksheet. Scrutiny is not fresh marking: BIEK says the answer script will not be reassessed. Check the notice for your own examination and result session for the filing deadline and confirm the current payment and submission route before you apply.

How to apply for BIEK HSC-I paper scrutiny

  1. Get the official form. Download the BIEK form titled “Detail for Scrutiny of Paper(s) Part XI or XII Marks Obtained” from the BIEK website. The form covers Part XI and Part XII. For HSC-I, provide the details for your Part-I paper.
  2. Complete the candidate and paper details. The form asks for the candidate’s name, father’s name, HSC roll number, examination year, annual or supplementary category, college or private status, group, contact number, and the paper or papers for scrutiny. Check that the paper details match your marksheet.
  3. Attach a photocopy of your HSC marksheet. This is the document expressly required by the form.
  4. Pay the fee shown on the form. The published form lists Rs. 1,000 per paper and includes bank-voucher copies. BIEK’s homepage describes fee submission at UBL branches or TCS outlets in Karachi, but the available information does not confirm that every scrutiny application can be filed through each channel. Verify the scrutiny-specific payment and submission instructions with BIEK before paying or sending your application.
  5. File during the correct session’s acceptance period. Check BIEK’s notifications for the notice matching your examination and result session. The scrutiny form does not give a deadline, and a deadline from a different year or examination category may not apply.
  6. Keep your records and provide a complete address. Retain the applicant copy and payment evidence. The form says the scrutiny result reply will be sent to the address supplied by the student.

What BIEK scrutiny does—and does not do

BIEK uses the term scrutiny for this request. Its form states: “The Answer Script of candidate shall not be re-assessed as per rules.” It also clarifies that scrutiny does not mean reassessment or reevaluation of the answer book. Do not treat it as a fresh marking of your answers or assume that your marks will change.

Fee, deadline, and contact details to verify

  • Fee: The currently linked form lists Rs. 1,000 per paper. Because administrative fees can change, check the current form or voucher before paying.
  • Deadline: The form itself does not state the current HSC-I filing deadline. Use the notice for your own examination and result session in BIEK’s notifications; the notifications index contains notices from multiple examination years.
  • Payment and submission: BIEK’s homepage mentions UBL branches and TCS outlets in Karachi for fee submission and online form access. Confirm which route applies specifically to scrutiny rather than assuming every channel accepts the application.
  • Contact: The form lists Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with lunch and prayer breaks, and gives complaint@biek.edu.pk for complaints. Confirm that these details remain current before relying on them.
