How to Add Money to Your PlayStation Wallet

You can add money to your PlayStation wallet with a supported payment method through PlayStation Store or by redeeming a PlayStation Store gift card or top-up code. Payment methods and prepaid-code rules depend on the country or region set on your account.

Add funds through PlayStation Store on the web

Open PlayStation Store and sign in to your account.
Select your profile icon, then choose Payment Management > Add Funds.
Choose an available payment method and the amount to add.
Select Add Funds and follow any confirmation prompts.

To check whether the top-up went through, review your wallet balance in Payment Management.

Add funds on a PlayStation console

PS5

Open Settings.
Select Users and Accounts.
Choose Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Add Funds.
Select a supported payment method and amount, then follow the prompts to confirm.

PS4

PlayStation’s Spanish regional support guide lists this route: Settings > Account Management > Account Information > Wallet > Add Funds. Menu labels and paths can change with system software and region, so check the current official wallet guide if the menus differ.

Redeem a gift card or wallet top-up code

Use PlayStation’s voucher redemption flow to redeem a PlayStation Store gift card or wallet top-up code. Before buying or entering a code, verify that it matches your account’s country or region. PlayStation’s US terms specify that prepaid wallet value must be in the currency of the country designated for the account.

Choose the funding method that fits your account

Option	What to check	Best fit
Direct payment-method top-up	The payment method must be available for your Store country and accepted for your account. Options vary by region; see PlayStation’s accepted payment methods for your country.	You have a supported payment method and want to add funds through your account.
Gift card or top-up code	The code must be valid for the country or region associated with your account.	Your card is unsupported, or you prefer prepaid funding.

For example, the US payment-method page reviewed on October 7, 2026 lists Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, and Cash App Pay. The UK and Canada pages list different selections; these are country-specific examples, not a worldwide list. Check your region’s current page before choosing a method.

Know how wallet funds work

Your wallet balance is used first when you buy eligible content. If it does not cover the full price, the remaining amount can be paid with another payment method.
A payment method may still be required for a subscription purchase.
Child accounts cannot add funds themselves. They use the family manager’s wallet, subject to a monthly spending limit that defaults to zero. The family manager can review the limit in the account’s family settings.
Under the US terms, wallet funding is generally non-refundable and non-transferable except where the law requires otherwise. Rules can differ by region, so consult the terms for your country and add only what you intend to spend.

Troubleshoot a failed or missing top-up

Your card is rejected

Confirm that the payment method is accepted for your account’s Store country. A card registered in a different country from the Store region may not link. Try another accepted method or use a region-matched wallet top-up code. See PlayStation’s guidance on card information problems.

Add Funds is unavailable or an attempt fails

Check PlayStation service status. If a relevant service is down, wait until it is operating and try again.

The balance has not changed, or you are unsure whether the payment succeeded

Review your transaction history before trying again. This helps you avoid repeating a successful top-up or purchase.

You may have been charged twice

Compare your PlayStation transaction history with your bank statement. If a transaction appears accidental, contact PlayStation Support. For additional checks, use PlayStation’s wallet funding troubleshooting guide.
