To add Hindi subtitles to an ended YouTube Live event, open YouTube Studio, select the archived video under Subtitles, add Hindi, then upload a timed subtitle file or create the track in Studio. If the spoken audio is not Hindi, provide translated Hindi text: YouTube’s auto-sync feature times a transcript in the language spoken; it does not translate it.
Choose the right Hindi subtitle method
First decide whether you need transcription or translation. Transcription writes down speech in the same language. Translation turns speech in one language into Hindi text. The method depends on whether you already have Hindi text and whether it has timings.

- Sign in to YouTube Studio.
- Choose Subtitles from the left menu.
- Select the archived video for the live event.
- Select Add language and choose Hindi.
- Under the Hindi subtitle track, select Add.
- Choose the route that matches your material:
- Upload file: Choose a subtitle file that includes timings. A basic .srt file should be plain UTF-8. Check the text, timestamps, and Hindi script before uploading.
- Type manually: Enter or paste the Hindi text while playing the replay, set its timing, then publish.
- Auto-sync: Enter a transcript in the language actually spoken in the video. YouTube will synchronize that same-language transcript; it will not translate it into Hindi.
- Save or publish the track. Open the replay and check that the subtitles appear at the right moments.

Check automatic captions separately from Hindi subtitles
A replay may receive automatic captions through YouTube’s video-on-demand (VOD) process. YouTube lists Hindi among the languages for automatic captions on long-form videos, but that does not mean it will automatically translate speech in another language into Hindi. Check whether captions are available for the replay’s spoken language, then review and edit them if needed.
Live automatic captions are a different feature: YouTube Help says, “Automatic captions for live streams are available in English only.” Live automatic captions do not remain on the video after the stream ends; YouTube generates VOD captions separately, and they may differ. For an event that has already ended, use the replay’s Subtitles workflow in Studio. YouTube’s live caption requirements cover sending captions during a broadcast, not adding a Hindi track afterward.

Review the published track
After publishing, play the replay and verify the Hindi subtitle track from start to finish. Review:

- Names, technical terms, and words that speech recognition may have misheard.
- Timing, so each line appears with the speech it represents.
- Hindi characters, line breaks, and readability on the video.
YouTube cautions that automatic captions can be affected by accents, dialects, mispronunciations, and background noise. Treat machine-generated text as a draft rather than a guaranteed transcript.
