For a cloud service that plays prerecorded video playlists, the reliable default is to add the background music to each video before uploading it. A separate audio playlist can be mixed with the video only if the cloud encoder explicitly supports that feature; YouTube’s encoder guidance does not establish that every cloud service can do it.
First clear the music rights for live streaming and any replay, then create a YouTube live stream and give its server URL and stream key to the cloud encoder. Preview the result before going live. YouTube lists cloud-based services for continuous prerecorded-video streams among its verified encoders, including Gyre, but that listing does not establish a particular provider’s audio-mixing features or current pricing.
How background music gets into a cloud YouTube stream
A cloud encoder sends an audiovisual program to YouTube using the stream URL and key associated with a live stream created in YouTube Studio. In a prerecorded-video playlist workflow, the encoder plays video files and sends their audio along with the picture. YouTube describes this encoder-feed model and lists a cloud tool for 24/7 prerecorded-video streaming. YouTube’s encoder guidance and its verified encoders list do not establish that every service can mix a separate audio-only playlist over a video playlist.

This is a workflow inference from the encoder and prerecorded-playlist models, not a tested feature of a particular service. If a provider does advertise separate audio and video playlists, verify its supported file formats, looping, transitions, and behavior when one playlist ends before depending on it.

Prepare the music and video files
Use a composed audiovisual file by default
- Choose the video clips that will make up the playlist and decide where background music should begin, end, or change.
- Mix the music into each video with an editor before uploading. Check that the final file has the intended sound and picture throughout; do not assume a cloud video playlist will accept a separate audio track.
- If you plan to use a service’s separate audio mixer, confirm the exact supported formats, whether audio loops independently, and how it handles transitions and gaps. Use the provider’s current documentation for those product-specific details.
- Keep a copy of the music license and its terms with the files or project records, so you can verify that the intended live and archived uses are covered.
Keep rights in view while preparing the program
Buying a song or having a license for ordinary video use does not by itself establish permission for a 24/7 live stream. YouTube’s Live Stream Terms require the operator to have the necessary rights for exploitation of the live content, including music licensing rights involving artists, record labels, publishers, and other royalty participants. Configure YouTube and the cloud encoder
- Choose an encoder. Confirm it accepts your prepared media, supports continuous playlist playback, and documents how it handles a stopped or disconnected stream. YouTube’s verified encoder list includes Gyre as a cloud option for 24/7 prerecorded-video streaming; the listing is not an endorsement beyond inclusion and does not establish current pricing or separate audio-mixing support. - Enable live streaming if needed. Follow YouTube’s current channel eligibility and activation flow if live streaming is not yet enabled.
- Create the live stream in YouTube Studio. Set up the stream and locate its server URL and stream key in the stream settings. Treat the key like a password: enter it only in the intended encoder account and do not publish or share it.
- Connect the encoder. Paste the YouTube server URL and stream key into the cloud encoder’s stream destination, then select the prepared playlist and its continuous-playback setting.
- Preview before going live. Check the picture, music level, synchronization, playlist order, and that the correct YouTube stream is receiving the feed. Start the broadcast only after the preview is correct.
- Monitor the live stream and rights notices. Watch YouTube Studio for warnings, restrictions, or interruptions, and check that the encoder continues advancing through the playlist.
Handle Content ID and copyright interruptions
A license does not guarantee that YouTube’s automated systems will let the stream continue uninterrupted. YouTube says creators using licensed third-party content should ask the rights owner to add the channel to its Content ID allowlist. Persistent Content ID matches can interrupt or terminate a live stream, and an archived stream may receive a Content ID claim after it ends. If you see a warning or interruption, check YouTube Studio for the relevant notice and contact the rights holder about the channel allowlist or replace/remove the track as appropriate. Plan the replay separately
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That does not establish that a 24/7 broadcast will produce one uninterrupted archive; plan for possible archive splits and check the resulting replays. - Whether music must already be part of each video or a separately documented audio mixer is available.

Another option is a more general encoder workflow, but the sources cited here do not establish a vendor-by-vendor comparison of cost, setup difficulty, or audio mixing. Google Cloud documents a Live Stream API channel that may need to be restarted after 24 hours in an active state; that is a Google Cloud API limit, not a rule about YouTube’s own 24/7 playlist behavior.
