Before choosing an RSS feed creator, check whether your blog platform already publishes a feed. If it does, you may only need to make the feed URL easy to find; if it does not, a hosted generator can turn an accessible webpage into a feed. The available documentation supports two examples—RSS.app and FetchRSS—but not a verified ranking of 12 tools.

Check for a native feed before using a generator

Many blogging platforms provide a feed for posts. Look in your platform’s help center or settings for “RSS,” “feed,” or “subscribe,” then test the feed URL in an RSS reader. If the feed already contains the posts you want, a separate feed-generation service may be unnecessary.

Wix example

Wix documents adding an RSS button through the site editor so visitors can obtain the blog feed URL. Its guide gives /blog-feed.xml as an example of a Wix blog feed path. That path is Wix-specific; do not assume it works on another platform. Check your platform’s current instructions before publishing a feed link. Wix’s RSS button instructions and its RSS feed guide explain the setup.

When a hosted RSS generator makes sense

A hosted generator is an option when the source site has no usable native feed and the page you want to follow is publicly accessible. These services inspect a webpage and provide a feed URL that readers can subscribe to. Their documented features are vendor descriptions, not independent evidence of accuracy, uptime, or comparative performance.

RSS.app

RSS.app describes generating a feed from a URL, including a blog URL. Its help documentation outlines pasting the URL into the generator, previewing the result, and saving the feed. Its RSS Builder also lets users select page elements such as article titles, descriptions, and images. The product page describes widgets and integrations. See RSS.app’s feed-creation instructions and RSS Builder details.

FetchRSS

FetchRSS describes a visual builder for selecting content blocks on a webpage. It says the service creates a hosted feed with a unique URL and updates it when new content appears on the source page. These are the service’s stated capabilities, not a comparative reliability assessment. Details are available on FetchRSS’s website.

Check access and feed quality before committing

A generator can only work with content it can access and identify. RSS.app says it does not support password-protected pages or pages that require login, including gated content. Check the exact page you want to follow: a public homepage does not mean every article or section is public. The limitation is described in RSS.app’s FAQ.

Before sharing a generated feed, open its preview and confirm that it captures the right items and fields. Check titles, descriptions, images, and whether updates appear as expected. For a visually configured builder, verify that the selected page elements still correspond to the intended content.

Compare the practical trade-offs

Option Best fit How feed content is selected Hosting and updates What to verify
Native platform feed Your blog platform already publishes the posts you want Provided by the platform; setup varies Provided by the platform; details vary Current setup, exact feed URL, and whether it includes the right posts
RSS.app You need to generate a feed from a URL or choose page elements URL-based generation; RSS Builder can select titles, descriptions, and images Feed creation is documented; specific update behavior is not established here Access to the target page, output quality, integrations, current price, and plan limits
FetchRSS You want to visually select webpage content for a hosted feed Visual selection of content blocks FetchRSS says it provides a unique hosted URL and updates when the source page changes Access to the target page, output quality, update behavior for your source, current price, and plan limits

The sources do not provide a consistent current price or plan-limit comparison, so check each provider’s current terms before choosing. If your workflow needs an embedded widget or another integration, confirm that the specific feature and plan are available for your use.

Choose based on the source, not a “best 12” ranking

  • Use the native feed if your platform already provides a working feed for the content you publish.
  • Try a hosted generator if there is no usable native feed and the target page is accessible without a login.
  • Prefer visual selection when you need to specify which page elements become feed entries; test the preview before sharing the result.
  • Check cost and integrations directly if plan limits, widgets, or connections to other services matter to your setup.

Only these two hosted generators and the Wix native-feed example are documented here. That is not enough evidence to name or rank 12 current tools, or to declare either generator the most reliable or best value.
