To keep an album cover on screen while Indian music plays around the clock, combine the authorized artwork and audio into a video feed, then send that feed to a YouTube Live event using an encoder. YouTube accepts encoder software or standalone encoder hardware; the still-image composition is a practical setup step, not a specific YouTube-prescribed tutorial. Before going live, confirm livestream access and clear rights for both the music and artwork.
Before you build the stream
Check that the channel can livestream
YouTube requires a verified channel with no livestreaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Enabling livestreaming for the first time can take up to 24 hours, so do not leave activation until the day you plan to start the continuous stream. See YouTube’s live streaming help and encoder setup guide.
Secure rights to the music and album art
You need permission for the actual uses involved: playing the music in a live broadcast, using the artwork as the stream’s visual, and retaining an archived copy if you plan to keep the stream replay available. YouTube’s livestream terms place responsibility on the provider to have the necessary rights for live content worldwide, including music rights involving artists, labels, publishers, and other royalty participants. Music being described as “free” does not by itself establish permission; YouTube describes safe music as public-domain music or music you have permission to use from the copyright owner.

Music permission and album-art permission are separate. A license to play a song does not automatically grant permission to display its cover image. Check the scope, territories, duration, and archive rights in the permissions you have obtained.

Prepare the cover-and-music video
Make a video output with the artwork visible
An encoder sends a video feed to YouTube, so a static-cover stream still needs a video output: show the authorized album art on the video canvas while the permitted music plays as its audio. YouTube explains that an encoder converts video into a digital format for streaming, but its cited encoder guidance does not prescribe a particular still-image workflow, artwork dimensions, or computer specification. Choose a canvas and image treatment appropriate to your intended presentation and encoder rather than assuming YouTube requires a particular cover size.
Choose software or hardware encoding
YouTube supports encoder software and standalone hardware encoders. A hardware encoder is optional; the documentation does not require a particular model or minimum computer specification for this use. Choose based on how you will produce the combined image-and-audio feed and how reliably you can keep the encoder operating for the planned duration.

Create the YouTube Live event and connect the encoder
- Open YouTube Studio and create or schedule an encoder stream. Use the live control room to set up the event and its visibility and schedule details.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key from the event’s stream settings. YouTube describes the key as the value that lets the encoder send the feed to YouTube. Treat it like a password: do not publish or share it, and reset it if it is exposed.
- Enter the stream URL and key in your encoder’s streaming settings. The exact labels and placement depend on the encoder you choose; YouTube’s guide describes connecting an encoder through its stream settings.
- Start the encoder output and inspect the YouTube preview. Verify that the album cover is visible, the audio is present and intelligible, and the correct event is receiving the feed.
- Go live only after checking the event. YouTube recommends previewing and monitoring encoder streams. Keep YouTube Studio available so you can see warnings or interruptions.
Plan for a true 24/7 run
A continuous schedule requires an encoder or service that remains active and a plan for what to do if the feed stops. A locally run software or hardware encoder depends on the equipment and connection you operate; the YouTube guidance does not prescribe a specific uptime configuration or recovery method. Decide who will monitor the event, how a dropped feed will be restarted, and how the audio playlist will continue without gaps. Do not treat a successful initial preview as proof that a stream will run indefinitely.

YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. If it identifies a match, YouTube may replace the stream with a placeholder image, temporarily interrupt the broadcast, or terminate it if the issue remains. A license alone may not prevent interruption: YouTube says a licensed channel’s stream can still be interrupted when the rights owner has not added the channel to its Content ID allowlist. Ask the rights owner to allowlist the channel when applicable, and monitor the live control room for enforcement notices.

An archived livestream may receive a Content ID claim after it ends. Separately, YouTube’s live Content ID matching feature is for qualifying Content Manager partners under rules requiring worldwide rights and exclusive ownership; those rules are not a general feature every creator can enable. Most creators should focus on securing permissions and resolving any claim with the rights owner. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams and its safe music guidance.
Troubleshoot common problems
| What you see | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Livestreaming is unavailable in Studio | The channel is not verified, has a recent livestream restriction, or first-time activation is still processing. | Verify the channel, check for restrictions, and allow up to 24 hours for first-time enablement before the planned start. |
| The event receives no encoder feed | The encoder has not started, or its stream URL or key does not match the event. | Check the event’s stream settings, re-enter the correct URL and key in the encoder, then restart the output and check the preview. |
| The cover appears but there is no music | The encoder is not receiving or sending the intended audio output. | Check the selected audio source and playback in the encoder, then confirm the audio in YouTube’s preview before going live. |
| The stream is interrupted or replaced with a placeholder | YouTube detected third-party content, or the rights owner has not allowlisted the channel despite a license. | Review Studio’s notice, verify the relevant permissions, and contact the rights owner about Content ID allowlisting or claim resolution. |
| A claim appears on the replay after the stream ends | Archived livestreams can receive Content ID claims after completion. | Review the claim and the rights that cover the archived copy; contact the rights owner if the permission or claim needs clarification. |
