This creates a review center for notices already shown in the admin area. It does not automatically turn those notices into email, webhook, or browser-push alerts.
What a WordPress notification center actually collects
WordPress admin notices are informational messages displayed inside dashboard screens. Core, themes, and plugins use them for success confirmations, warnings, errors, updates, and other important information about the site or installed software.
A notice center reorganizes those dashboard messages so you can review them from a toolbar-linked panel instead of hunting through individual admin pages. It is different from a system that creates a new event alert or sends a message to visitors.

Recommended no-code method: Admin Notices Manager
Install the plugin
- Sign in to your WordPress dashboard.
- Open Plugins > Add New.
- Search for Admin Notices Manager.
- Select the plugin, click Install Now, and then click Activate.
The plugin’s directory listing describes automatic capture of admin notices from WordPress core, themes, and plugins. The exact notices collected can depend on how an extension generates its messages, so verify the result on your own site after activation.
Review captured notices
After activation, check the WordPress toolbar for the new-notice count. Open it to access the retractable notice sidebar. If you enable the optional popup, new messages can also be surfaced there.
Adjust display and handling
Open the plugin’s settings and review its controls for notice types, display locations, and available actions. The listing also says custom notice types can be captured. Choose settings that keep urgent warnings visible without allowing routine information to overwhelm the panel.

Alternative: Hide admin notices – Admin Notification Center
Hide admin notices – Admin Notification Center is another WordPress.org option. Its listing describes a right-side notification center, a toolbar toggle with a badge, display controls by user role, controls for information, warning, and error notices, and filtering based on user-defined spam words.

Check that the center is working
- Visit several dashboard screens where your site normally displays notices.
- Confirm the toolbar badge changes when a new notice appears.
- Open the panel and check that the message text and notice type are readable.
- Test the roles that manage your site if you use role-based display settings.
- Check plugin and theme update screens, where notices may be especially important.
If a particular extension’s message does not appear, keep checking that extension’s own screen. A plugin directory description cannot guarantee capture of every third-party implementation.
When you need a different kind of notification
Creating a custom admin notice
Developers can print notices with WordPress’s admin_notices hook. Core documentation describes success, warning, error, and info styles. Dismissing a notice on this hook generally affects only the current screen; it does not by itself prevent the message from appearing after another page load.

The Block Editor has its own notices API. A developer can call wp.data.dispatch('core/notices').createNotice() with success, info, warning, or error types. That API creates an editor notice; it does not provide a persistent cross-plugin center.

Sending workflow emails or webhooks
The WordPress.org Notification plugin is aimed at event-driven alerts. Its listing describes triggers for posts, users, comments, plugins, themes, privacy events, and other WordPress activity, with email and webhook carriers in the free version and additional carriers available through extensions. Use this approach when the requirement is to send a new alert, not merely collect dashboard notices.
Sending the core new-user email
For the built-in new-user workflow, wp_send_new_user_notifications() initiates email notifications and accepts an admin-only, user-only, or both notification choice. This is a specific developer function, not a general admin notice center.
Reaching site visitors with browser push
Browser push is a visitor re-engagement channel. It targets people who visit the site rather than administrators reviewing the WordPress dashboard, so it requires a push-notification solution and subscriber permission. Do not assume an admin notice center provides this channel.

Choosing the right solution
- Use Admin Notices Manager when you want a toolbar-linked place to review existing dashboard notices with minimal configuration.
- Use Hide admin notices – Admin Notification Center when role visibility, notice-type controls, or spam-word filtering are central requirements.
- Use an event-notification plugin when alerts must be delivered by email or webhook after a defined WordPress event.
- Use a browser-push system when the audience is site visitors, not logged-in administrators.
- Use WordPress notice APIs when you are developing the notice itself rather than collecting messages created by other code.
Security and maintenance checklist
- Install from the WordPress.org directory or another trusted source.
- Review the plugin’s current compatibility, PHP requirement, and update history before activation.
- Test on a staging site if your dashboard contains mission-critical workflows.
- Give administrators only the notice visibility and management access they need.
- Keep the center enabled long enough to confirm that important update and error messages remain discoverable.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will an admin notification center send me email automatically?
No. Admin Notices Manager and similar centers organize notices inside the WordPress dashboard. Email, webhook, and push delivery require a separate event-notification or visitor-messaging setup.
Can I use this for visitors who are not logged in?
No. These centers are for WordPress administrators. Visitor-facing browser push is a separate channel with its own subscription and delivery system.
