There’s no documented YouTube Studio switch that automatically adds a membership callout to a prerecorded 24/7 stream. To show one, either put the message in the video image (or an encoder overlay) or post and pin it in live chat. Use the first when viewers should see the prompt in the picture; use chat when you want a platform-native message alongside the stream.
Choose where the callout should appear

Put a membership message in the video or production
Use a brief, accurate message that points viewers to the channel’s Join button or its memberships and perks information. Don’t assume a URL displayed in the video will be clickable. You can include text in the prerecorded sequence or add it as an overlay in the encoder workflow. YouTube describes encoders as supporting production inputs such as overlays, but does not document overlay scheduling for a 24/7 prerecorded loop.
Before committing to a long loop, review how the message looks against the footage and make sure it does not obscure important content. If the callout should appear only at intervals, prepare those appearances in the video or production workflow; the cited YouTube guidance does not provide a specific rotation control for this use.

Post and pin a prompt in live chat
- Open the stream’s live chat as the creator. YouTube’s live-stream guidance says creators can pin a message in chat. Check that chat is enabled for the channel and stream.
- Write a concise prompt. For example: “Want members-only posts, videos, or live streams? See the Join button on this channel for available perks.” Only mention perks your channel actually offers.
- Post the message, then pin it. YouTube says the creator can pin or unpin one message at a time; moderators and viewers cannot pin it for you.
- Check the viewer experience. Chat is available on YouTube watch pages, not embedded players. YouTube’s current feature overview lists clickable chat links for horizontal live streams, but not vertical live feeds, so don’t rely on a chat URL being clickable for every viewer or format.
Chat may not be an option for a made-for-kids stream: YouTube says made-for-kids settings disable live chat. Confirm the relevant settings in YouTube Studio before planning around a pinned prompt.

Keep the callout distinct from membership features
YouTube’s membership guidance describes creator-defined perks such as members-only posts, videos, live streams, live chat, badges, and other benefits. Those perks can give viewers a reason to join, but they are not a special control for displaying a callout on a prerecorded 24/7 broadcast. Check the memberships and live-stream controls available to your channel in YouTube Studio rather than assuming every channel has the same options.
YouTube also says that when someone becomes a channel member during a live stream, a “New Member” message appears in chat and the viewer’s profile image is pinned at the top of chat for five minutes. That is a response to a membership purchase, not a substitute for your own invitation to join.

Use a members-only transition only for gated viewing
YouTube documents a way to transition a public live stream to members-only with a countdown of 1, 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes. The transition changes access to the stream; it does not keep a general membership message visible while the stream remains public. YouTube says this feature is unavailable on vertical live streams, and its guidance does not specify how it behaves with prerecorded 24/7 loops. Check the current controls in YouTube Studio before planning a broadcast around it.
