In OBS Studio, add an Image source for your logo and a Text source for the song title, then place both above your background in the Sources list. You can type titles manually, read them from a text file you update, or build a custom Browser Source overlay connected to current-track data. OBS does not automatically detect the song playing in every player, and a loop setting alone does not guarantee an unattended 24/7 stream.
Build the OBS scene with a logo and title
- Create or select a scene. In OBS, choose an existing scene or create one for the music stream.
- Add the background first. In Sources, add the visual background that will sit behind the logo and title.
- Add the logo. Select + in Sources, choose Image, name the source, and select the logo file. If the artwork should sit cleanly over the background, use an image with a transparent background.
- Add the song-title text. Select +, choose a Text source, and enter the title or configure it to read from a text file.
- Position and size the overlays. Use the preview to resize and place the logo and title. Use readable text, strong contrast, and space from the frame edges so the overlays remain legible.
- Set the layer order. In Sources, move the Image and Text sources above the background. Sources higher in the list appear in front of lower sources.

Choose how song titles update
The logo is usually a static image. The title is separate and needs a reliable update method that matches the music actually playing.
Type the title in OBS
Edit the Text source when the track changes. This is the simplest option when someone is actively operating the broadcast, but it requires manual updates.

Read the title from a text file
Open the Text source properties, enable Read from file, and select the text file containing the current title. Change the file when playback moves to another track. OBS displays the file contents; it does not supply a separate process to update that file, so the title stays accurate only if you keep it in sync. See OBS Text Sources.
Use a custom Browser Source overlay
A Browser Source can render a web page inside the scene. A custom page can present a designed now-playing overlay, but it still needs a working source of current-track data and an integration that passes that data to the page. Test track changes, missing metadata, long titles, non-Latin scripts such as Hindi or Punjabi, and reconnection behavior before relying on it. OBS’s Browser Source documentation does not establish that a particular music player or now-playing service will work automatically; see OBS Browser Source.

Set up the music playback source
For a playlist: use VLC Video
OBS’s VLC Video source can play a playlist and includes a Loop Playlist option, documented as on by default. VLC must be installed. If you use 64-bit OBS, the OBS guide specifies 64-bit VLC. Add the source, select the media items, and confirm that the playlist plays in the intended order and that its audio reaches the stream.

OBS Media Source handles an individual media file and has its own loop property. This is distinct from a playlist: use VLC Video when you need playlist controls, and Media Source when you need a single file. Refer to OBS Media Sources.

A loop repeats media; it is not evidence that the computer, OBS, internet connection, or YouTube broadcast will run indefinitely without attention. Check that the displayed title corresponds to the item actually playing.
Test the stream before leaving it running
- Run the Auto-Configuration Wizard. Use OBS’s wizard as a starting point for streaming configuration.
- Check the audio mixer and output settings. Confirm that the correct playback source is active, the audio meters move, and the stream output is configured as intended.
- Make a short test stream. Verify the picture, logo, title, audio, and playback transitions from the viewer’s perspective. OBS calls testing settings “one of the most important things to do before you start streaming for the first time.” See the OBS Quick Start Guide.
- Plan monitoring and recovery for continuous operation. Decide how someone will notice a stopped broadcast, incorrect title, or playback failure and how they will restart or correct it. No single OBS loop option guarantees 24/7 uptime.
Check music rights for an Indian online stream
Showing a song title on screen does not grant permission to stream the recording. Music rights can involve both the sound recording and the underlying composition, and the answer depends on the tracks, platform, territory, and agreements involved.

- Do not assume an on-ground licence covers an online stream. PPL India distinguishes on-ground use from digital use, says its on-ground licence does not cover digital usage of sound recordings, and directs digital users to individual labels. Its FAQ states: “PPL does not issue license for usage of sound recordings on a digital platform.” See PPL India and its music licensing FAQs.
- Consider rights in the underlying works too. IPRS describes licences for online streaming platforms for its repertoire and/or payment of authors’ royalties for its members. See IPRS: Choose your license and IPRS Licensing Updates.
Those statements describe the organisations’ licensing scope; they do not resolve the requirements for a particular channel or set of recordings. Ask the relevant rights holders and qualified Indian counsel about the specific recordings, compositions, platform, territory, and operating model before broadcasting.
