WooCommerce stores can enable ACH in the official Stripe extension; service, donation, or deposit sites can use a standalone form such as WP Simple Pay. Stripe’s documented ACH Direct Debit option is for Stripe users based in the United States receiving USD, so verify your account’s eligibility before launch.
Choose the right WordPress ACH setup

What ACH means for a WordPress checkout
ACH Direct Debit lets a customer authorize a debit from a US bank account rather than paying by card. Stripe’s published scope for this option is US-based Stripe users receiving USD; availability can depend on the account and configuration. Your checkout or form must capture the customer’s authorization. Stripe defines a mandate as “a record of the permission that your customer gives you to debit their payment method.” The integration should create and retain that authorization as part of the payment flow; do not build a separate, improvised consent step unless the processor’s documentation requires it.
Enable ACH in a WooCommerce store
- Confirm account eligibility. Create or connect a Stripe account and check that ACH Direct Debit is available for your US account and USD payments.
- Install and connect the extension. Add the official Stripe WooCommerce extension, complete its connection and account onboarding, and make sure the site uses HTTPS.
- Open the payment-method settings. In WordPress, go to WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > Stripe > Payment Methods.
- Select ACH. Enable ACH (it may be labeled ACH Direct Debit or bank-account payment), then save the settings. WooCommerce documents additional-method controls in its Stripe payment-method guide.
- Check the live checkout. Confirm that ACH appears for an eligible checkout, that the mandate/authorization language is presented, and that the order records the resulting payment state.
The extension’s availability and the labels shown in your dashboard can vary with the connected Stripe account. If ACH is missing, recheck account eligibility, currency, country, extension connection, and whether another checkout customization is hiding the method.

Use a standalone ACH payment form
A standalone form avoids adding a product catalog and cart when you only need to collect a service bill, donation, retainer, or deposit. WP Simple Pay’s WordPress.org listing explicitly identifies ACH direct debit for US bank accounts through Stripe.
- Install WP Simple Pay and connect the Stripe account that will receive the payment.
- Create a payment form for the required amount or customer-entered amount.
- In the form’s payment-method controls, enable ACH if the connected account and your plugin tier expose it.
- Review the form’s authorization text, confirmation page or email, and the destination for payment-status notifications.
- Run a complete test in the mode and process supported by the integration, including the customer’s bank authorization and your site’s success, pending, and failure handling, before accepting a real payment.
WP Simple Pay offers Lite and Pro versions, but the listing alone does not establish which current tier contains every ACH, recurring-payment, or customer-management feature. Check the current plan matrix and documentation for the exact form you intend to publish.

Do not assume every Stripe form plugin supports ACH
WPForms documents Stripe payment-form setup and requires HTTPS for a live payment page, but the reviewed Stripe Pro Addon documentation does not establish ACH as an available payment method. Treat WPForms as a general Stripe form option unless current official documentation confirms ACH for your specific version, account, and form configuration.
Launch checklist
- The processor account is eligible for ACH in the intended country and currency.
- The integration is connected to the correct live or test account.
- ACH is enabled in the plugin’s payment-method settings.
- The customer sees and accepts the required debit mandate.
- The site uses HTTPS and the confirmation page or email identifies the submitted payment.
- Order or form records distinguish successful, pending, and failed states so fulfillment does not occur prematurely.
- You have tested the entire customer flow and verified the notifications your staff rely on.
Operational details to verify before publishing
ACH availability, plugin tiers, settlement timing, fees, and return or dispute handling are account- and integration-specific and can change. The cited documentation does not establish universal fee rates, settlement-day estimates, or return windows, so obtain those terms from Stripe and your chosen plugin before promising timing to customers or designing fulfillment rules.
