There is no single official definition of “100%” completion in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. You can earn every achievement or trophy listed for your platform, or set a broader goal that also covers questlines, add-ons, exploration, and selected collectibles. Those are different targets: an achievement list is bounded, while a full-content checklist depends on your edition and on what you choose to count.
This guide gives you a practical framework for tracking either goal without claiming an unverified master list of every quest, item, or location. It covers Skyrim Special Edition and Anniversary Edition; check your platform’s own achievement list and current edition details for your specific copy.
Choose what “100%” means for your playthrough
Decide on your finish line before you start tracking. Steam’s Skyrim Special Edition achievement listing, for example, includes objectives such as discovering 100 locations and completing 10 side quests. Earning every listed achievement or trophy is a clear, platform-specific target, but it does not by itself prove that you completed every quest, found every collectible, or explored every location in the game.
For a broader completion goal, make a personal checklist and write down its boundaries. State whether it covers the base game, the official add-ons, and Anniversary Edition Creation Club content; define which optional activities and collectible categories you intend to finish. There is no official universal checklist established here that makes one player-defined scope the definitive 100%.

Use separate completion tracks
- Achievement/trophy completion: Earn all objectives on the achievement or trophy list for your platform and game version.
- Expanded content completion: Track the main story, major faction questlines, side content, add-ons, exploration, and any collectible categories you have explicitly chosen to include.
Confirm your edition and included content
Skyrim Special Edition and Anniversary Edition do not imply the same content scope. Bethesda describes Anniversary Edition as including Skyrim Special Edition and its add-ons, plus Creation Club content such as quests, dungeons, bosses, weapons, and spells. Bethesda’s page describes the bundle as containing more than 500 unique Creation Club pieces.
Bethesda Support gives a different count and wording: Anniversary Edition includes 74 Creations showcasing over 500 individual elements, including items, armor, and houses. These are Bethesda’s descriptions of the bundled content, not a count of more than 500 distinct quests. Check the contents shown for your own platform and edition before adding Creation Club material to your completion checklist.

Bethesda’s Anniversary Edition support page explains the included content. Bethesda’s Anniversary Edition FAQ, published November 5, 2021, also records historical launch details: it listed U.S. launch prices of $49.99 for Anniversary Edition and $19.99 for the Anniversary Upgrade, and said physical copies were available for PS4 and Xbox One. The FAQ noted that the disc required internet access to redeem or download included Creation Club content and that prices and availability varied by region. These are historical details, not current prices or proof of current stock; check your platform’s current listing for availability and contents.
Protect achievement eligibility before using mods
If achievements or trophies matter, establish an achievement-safe playthrough first. Bethesda Support says Creation Club items bundled with Anniversary Edition do not disable achievements or trophies, while other Creations and mods do. Bethesda also says that mods on a save stop achievement earning; to resume, remove or disable the mods and load a save from before they were installed. Do not assume every platform or future update handles every setup identically.

- Choose the achievement or trophy target before enabling mods.
- Use a clean save without non-approved mods for that target, and check the guidance for your platform.
- Keep a separate backup save before installing mods or making consequential quest decisions, so you can return to an earlier state if needed.
Bethesda’s policy is described on its Creations and achievements support page and mod-related achievements support page. Its 2021 FAQ says achievement or trophy progress from Special Edition carries to Anniversary Edition, except when upgrading the PS4 version to PS5; consult the FAQ for the full platform-specific wording.
Build a checklist that matches your scope
The following structure helps keep a long playthrough auditable without pretending to be an exhaustive inventory. Create one tracker for achievements or trophies and another for any expanded content goal; record the platform, edition, included add-ons, and whether Anniversary Creations count.

- Main story: Track the main quest from its opening through its ending, marking objectives as you complete them.
- Faction questlines: Give each major faction story its own progress section rather than combining separate questlines into one checkbox.
- Side content: Log unique side quests separately from repeatable or miscellaneous objectives, so recurring tasks do not obscure what you meant by “complete.”
- Add-ons and Creations: List only the content sets included in your edition or deliberately added to your goal. Keep official add-ons distinct from Anniversary Edition Creation Club content.
- Exploration and collectibles: Decide which locations and collectible categories count, then track those categories. Do not treat an achievement objective such as discovering 100 locations as proof that every location has been found.
- Final audit: Compare your platform’s completed achievement or trophy list with your expanded tracker. Note any excluded content so your completion claim has a clear scope.
Manage decisions and uncertain missables
An exhaustive, validated list of missable quests, items, and mutually exclusive outcomes is not established here. That means this framework cannot guarantee that every optional objective remains available after every choice. Before consequential dialogue or quest decisions, make a separate save if you may want to revisit the decision. Treat this as cautious route management, not proof that a particular named quest or item is missable.
What carries over to Anniversary Edition?
Bethesda’s November 5, 2021 FAQ says achievement or trophy progress earned in Skyrim Special Edition carries over to Anniversary Edition, with an exception when upgrading the PS4 version to the PS5 version. Because the exception concerns a particular upgrade path, check the current platform guidance if you are changing console generation rather than assuming progress will transfer in every case.

When can you call the game complete?
You can make a defensible completion claim by naming the target: all achievements or trophies on a specified platform, or a personal expanded checklist with its edition and content included. A tracker can demonstrate progress against your chosen scope; it cannot turn that scope into an official definition of 100%.
