The COROS PACE Pro is the least expensive running watch in this comparison with verified full-map support: COROS lists it at $299 USD. The Suunto Race S is the next step up at $349 USD, while the Garmin Forerunner 965 offers built-in maps at $599.99 USD. These are U.S. official-page listing prices accessed in October 2026, not guaranteed street prices or stock.
Running watches with full maps: price and feature comparison
“Maps” can mean different things on a running watch. A full map shows geographic context around your position; breadcrumb guidance shows a route line or track to follow without displaying the same map context. That distinction matters if you want to orient yourself on unfamiliar roads or trails rather than simply stay on a preplanned route.

Cheaper watches that follow routes but do not show full maps
If breadcrumb or point-to-point guidance is sufficient, two lower-priced watches may be worth considering. Wareable’s comparison, published March 20, 2024, says both can follow uploaded routes but do not display full maps. Treat that as a feature distinction, not as an equivalent substitute for map context.

How to choose a map-equipped running watch
Decide whether you need a map or a route line
Choose a full-map watch if you want to see geographic context while navigating. If your main goal is following a route you already planned, breadcrumb guidance may be enough, but it will not provide the same map view. Check the manufacturer’s feature description for the exact model rather than relying on “navigation” alone.
Check offline availability and regional coverage
Offline maps are useful when you expect to run without a reliable connection, but map availability and coverage can vary by region. Suunto explicitly advertises free offline maps for the Race S; COROS’s page describes map features, while the independent comparison identifies offline maps for the PACE Pro. Confirm coverage for the places you run before buying.

Compare the parts that affect your run
- Whether the display provides full map context or only a route line
- Whether maps can be used offline and cover your running area
- How route planning and transfer to the watch work
- Screen readability and controls while moving
- Battery life with GPS and navigation active
- Price in your market, plus model version, stock, and seller
Comparable current evidence for battery life during navigation and map detail across these models is not established here, so those factors should not be ranked from the listed prices or feature claims alone.
Price and availability caveats
Official list prices can differ from marketplace or retailer prices and may change. The PACE 3’s COROS catalogue card displays $199 alongside a former $229 figure; the older Wareable comparison contains historical pricing, which should not be treated as current. Check the manufacturer’s page and the seller’s live listing for your region before purchasing.
