There is no fixed, evidence-based rupee amount a 24/7 YouTube livestream earns in India. Streaming around the clock does not mean ads appear for every viewer or every minute: YouTube says ad slots are not guaranteed to serve, and it does not guarantee how much a partner will be paid. The most defensible estimate comes from your own YouTube Analytics, using ad revenue and monetized playback data for a clearly defined period and audience.
Why a 24/7 schedule does not determine ad earnings
A livestream’s runtime is only one part of the picture. The schedule alone does not reveal how many people watched, how many playbacks were monetized, how many ad impressions were delivered, or how much revenue those ads generated. Viewers may not all see ads, and the platform decides whether an available ad slot receives one. YouTube Help summarizes the limitation plainly: “Ad slots are not guaranteed to serve ads.” YouTube’s live monetization guidance describes the ad options and delivery caveats.
No current India-specific live-stream CPM, RPM, or typical earnings figure in the official guidance supports a universal rupee estimate. A figure detached from a channel’s Analytics would therefore be speculation, not a reliable forecast.
What a channel needs before it can earn ad revenue
For ad revenue, YouTube’s India eligibility guidance lists a threshold of 1,000 subscribers and either 4,000 qualified public watch hours in the previous 365 days or 10 million qualified public Shorts views in the previous 90 days. Meeting a threshold alone is not enough: the channel must comply with YouTube’s monetization policies, be accepted into the YouTube Partner Program (YPP), and accept the relevant monetization terms. For ads and YouTube Premium revenue on eligible livestreams watched on the Watch Page or embedded in the YouTube player, creators must also accept the Watch Page Monetization Module. YouTube’s channel monetization policies and terms guidance explains the module and related monetization features.
Which ads can appear on a monetized livestream?
When live monetization is enabled, YouTube says pre-roll and display ads are automatically turned on. Mid-rolls can be automatic or manual. Automatic mid-roll frequency can be set to low, medium, or high; creators can also schedule or insert breaks manually. These are opportunities for ads, not guaranteed deliveries.

YouTube recommends automatic mid-rolls and notes that scheduled or manual choices may have lower earnings potential than automatic mode. Ad breaks can interrupt viewing; the platform says its automatic system includes measures such as pausing for some fan-funding interactions and snoozing ads during high engagement. These settings can affect the viewing experience and ad opportunities, but they cannot guarantee a particular revenue result. YouTube explains these distinctions in its revenue metric definitions and partner earnings overview. YouTube also states: “There are no guarantees under the YouTube partner agreement about how much or whether you’ll be paid.”

How to make an estimate from your own Analytics
- Choose the period. Use a defined window that reflects the stream you are forecasting, such as a recent month when it ran continuously. State the dates rather than treating one period as a permanent rate.
- Isolate ad revenue. Use the ad revenue figure in YouTube Analytics, not total RPM, if the estimate is meant to cover ads only. Keep Premium and fan-funding revenue separate.
- Record delivery and audience context. Note views or watch time, monetized playbacks or ad impressions where available, and the audience geography. Include average concurrent or total viewers only as context; neither alone establishes ad earnings.
- Match the forecast to the stream. Apply the observed results only if the planned stream has a reasonably similar audience and ad-delivery mix. If the audience, schedule, or settings differ, present the estimate as uncertain rather than assuming the same outcome.
- Label assumptions. If you calculate a scenario instead of using a comparable period’s actual revenue, identify every input as an assumption. Do not present the result as a typical Indian rate or guaranteed payout.
What YouTube’s mid-roll statistic does—and does not—show
YouTube Help reported that channels using automatic live mid-roll ads had an average uplift of over 20% in in-stream ad revenue per hour compared with channels that did not use the feature. The comparison covered 207 countries in January 2024. It is a platform-reported average across that scope, not an India-specific result or a forecast for an individual channel. It does not establish what a particular Indian stream will earn. The YouTube live monetization page provides the platform’s context for the feature.
Keep other creator income separate
Memberships, Super Chat, Super Stickers, YouTube Premium, Shopping, and brand partnerships may contribute to a creator’s broader income, but they are not livestream ad revenue. Do not add them to an ads-only estimate. YouTube lists these as separate earning options in its live monetization guidance and creator earning tips.
