There is no single video-count limit for every 24/7 YouTube streaming service. The service sets the media-library allowance: Upstream says you can upload as many videos as you want until you reach your plan’s storage limit, usually 100 GB per stream slot. YouTube’s separate limit applies to each individual upload: 256 GB or 12 hours, whichever is less. If you mean a different provider, check that provider’s plan; do not assume Upstream’s allowance applies to it.
Why there is no universal upload count
“A 24/7 YouTube streaming service” is not one YouTube feature with a shared library quota. Third-party services set their own storage and scheduling rules. A provider may limit the total storage you can use without publishing a fixed number of files.
For Upstream, the help center says: “As many as you want, as long as they don’t exceed the total storage of the plan you’re on (usually 100GB per stream slot).” That is Upstream’s service-specific policy, not a rule for all providers. With a storage-based allowance, the total size of your files—not just their count—determines how many you can keep in the service library. Smaller files use less of the allowance; larger files use more. Upstream describes its usual allowance as 100 GB per stream slot, but the exact storage available depends on the plan. The guide does not establish a typical number of videos because file sizes vary.

Upstream’s guide lists MP4, MOV, WebM, and Ogg as supported video formats and recommends MP4 with H.264 for compatibility. It also describes playlists whose items can be added, removed, or rearranged while streaming. The number of uploaded files and the number of items currently arranged in a playlist are separate questions.

These are different services and the figures are not interchangeable. OneStream Live’s guide, updated September 3, 2026, describes its 24/7 feature as exclusive to YouTube, requiring Enterprise, and allowing a scheduled duration of up to 30 days; it does not state a file-count or library-storage cap. YouTube’s own upload and live-stream limits
Per-video upload ceiling
YouTube’s limit for an individual video is 256 GB or 12 hours, whichever is less. An account that has not been verified is limited by default to uploads of up to 15 minutes; verification allows longer uploads, subject to the maximum size or duration. Older videos may exceed the current limit because YouTube says its limits have changed over time. These are YouTube upload rules, not the storage quota of a third-party streaming service. Requirements for going live
YouTube requires a verified channel to live stream and says the channel must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. YouTube also states a maximum of 10 active streams per channel and three active streams per stream key at a time. Those figures concern simultaneous live streams, not how many videos you can upload to a service library. YouTube Help: live streaming restrictions.

How to find your actual allowance
- Identify the service and plan. Look for the storage quota attached to each stream or slot, whether it is pooled, and any stated file-count cap.
- Add up the size of the videos you plan to keep there. Compare their combined size with the service’s storage allowance; a published storage quota does not translate into one fixed file count.
- Check separate scheduling rules. A maximum scheduled duration, such as OneStream Live’s stated 30 days, is not a video-library limit.
- Check YouTube’s upload requirements for each source file. The per-video size and duration ceiling applies independently of the third-party service’s storage.
