Honor of Kings esports links open grassroots competition to regional professional leagues and international club tournaments. A separate set of events lets players represent their countries. The route into each event, its format, and its schedule depend on the season, so there is no single qualification path or tournament format to assume.
How the Honor of Kings esports structure fits together
The ecosystem has three main layers: the Open Series for grassroots and semi-pro teams, regional professional leagues, and international tournaments. National competitions sit alongside that club structure rather than replacing it. A team’s route onward depends on the event’s rules for that season.
- Open Series: An official grassroots entry route, described by the publisher as open without rank restrictions and as a path toward Regional Pro Leagues and global events. In 2026, Open Series Split 6 was identified as a route to the Regional Pro Leagues. In 2025, the publisher reported more than 150,000 sign-ups for Split 3; that figure is specific to that edition, not a current participant count. Level Infinite’s 2025 roadmap and the official esports listings provide the relevant context.
- Regional professional leagues: These are distinct circuits, generally organized around regions and seasons. The 2026 official listings include Indonesia Kings Laga (IKL), MY Honor of Kings League (MKL), Philippine Kings League (PKL), Honor of Kings Brazil Championship (CHOKBR), and Honor of Kings Major League (KML). Names and schedules are season-specific; consult the individual event pages for details.
- International club tournaments: Teams can reach global events through regional performance and other qualification routes. Those routes change by event and year, so a previous tournament’s qualifying rules are not a reliable guide to the next one.
- Country-representation events: Players compete in national contexts at events such as the Esports Nations Cup and the Asian Games. These are separate from the regional professional club leagues.
How teams reach international events
Qualification is not one fixed ladder. For the 2025 Honor of Kings World Cup (KWC), the publisher said 18 teams from regional leagues would qualify, alongside that year’s KPL Spring champion. The 2026 KWC at the Esports World Cup had a different structure: it brought together Honor of Kings and Arena of Valor teams. These examples show why qualification should be checked against the specific tournament announcement rather than inferred from a league finish alone.

The KWC at EWC26 is a useful example of one event’s design, not a template for all Honor of Kings tournaments. It featured 20 teams from Honor of Kings and Arena of Valor, a dedicated tournament patch based on Honor of Kings Season 15, and 111 playable heroes. The event announced a $3 million USD prize pool. Honor of Kings’ July 1, 2026 announcement detailed the field and format.

How the tournament ended
The event concluded in August 2026. Kuaishou Gaming (KSG) beat AG.AL 4–3 in the final, while Geekay Esports defeated ROC Esports 3–0 in the third-place match, according to the August 10, 2026 season update.

How to choose an event to follow
Start with what kind of competition interests you, then check the event-specific page for the latest teams, schedule, format, and viewing links. Useful distinctions include:
- Region and qualification: A regional league or Open Series event has a different entry route from a global invitational or championship.
- Club or country: League and international club play feature teams; the Esports Nations Cup and Asian Games are country-representation settings.
- Match format: Check stage rules and best-of lengths for that event. The KWC at EWC26 format, for example, varied between stages.
- Game rules: A tournament may use a special patch, hero pool, or cross-title field, as KWC at EWC26 did.
Where to verify teams, schedules, and formats
The official Honor of Kings esports site is the starting point for event listings and regional pages. For a specific tournament, use its own announcement or page to confirm the current roster, qualification rules, broadcast platform, dates, and match format. A consolidated team roster for every regional league is not established by the event listing alone; detailed information may be published on individual tournament pages.
