Fortnite Locker presets save a named combination of cosmetics so you can reuse a complete look without rebuilding it. Favorites solve a different problem: they mark individual items so you can find them faster. Use presets for saved combinations and Favorites for quicker browsing.
How do I create a Preset in Fortnite?
- Open the Locker and select the cosmetics you want in the combination.
- Choose Save Character.
- Select an empty preset space, enter a name you can recognize, and save it.
Epic describes this as creating a preset or loadout. A useful name might identify a color palette, character theme, or mode you associate with the look. Choose wording you can scan quickly; the cited instructions do not establish that the Locker supports folders, custom tags, or custom sorting.
When should I use a preset versus Favorites?
| Tool | What it saves or marks | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Preset | A named combination of cosmetics | Restoring a complete look |
| Favorites | An individual cosmetic marked as a favorite | Finding a particular item in its category |
To favorite an item, select it in the relevant Locker category. On consoles, hold the left stick; on PC, open the ellipsis menu and choose Favorite Item. To display favorites, choose Sort + Filter, select Favorites, and apply the filter. The documented controls may vary as the game changes; the source instructions do not establish exact control parity across every platform.
Which Locker sections have presets?
Epic’s deletion instructions cover presets in several Locker sections, not only character combinations:

How do I delete a Locker preset?
- Open the Locker section containing the preset you want to remove.
- Find the preset and open its ellipsis menu.

Why have my locker loadouts been rearranged after the v34.10 Update?
Epic’s explanation is that indexless loadouts arrived with v34.10. When a preset is deleted, empty tiles are deleted too, so entries that had empty spaces between them can appear rearranged. This is Epic’s account of the behavior, not a guarantee that loadouts retain stable numbered positions.

What do Series labels tell you?
In its April 9, 2024 v29.20 announcement, Epic said cosmetic Series labels—including Icon Series and Gaming Legends Series—would remain to help players find items after Shop and Locker changes. That announcement provides historical context; it does not establish every current Locker filter or sorting option.
