To reach the Oldest House Fault in CONTROL Resonant, first complete The Underpass Fault if the objective is blocked. Then return to the Oldest House, meet Zoe, restore power via Classrooms and the Interactions Lab, solve the three-stage Electrokinesis Test, and enter Main Test Chamber V-E2. Interacting with the CRT television at the ritual site starts the Fault sequence.
Before you start: clear the progression gate
The Oldest House Fault is part of The House in Distress. If the objective will not advance, check your quest log and complete The Underpass Fault first; the Oldest House sequence is gated by that earlier Fault. Once it is complete, return to the Oldest House and head toward Executive Research to meet Zoe and continue toward Prime Candidate Training and Main Observation.
Restore power through Classrooms and the Interactions Lab
If the door to Main Test Chamber V-E2 has no power, do not keep trying to open it. Follow Zoe through Classrooms to the Interactions Lab and use the Power Core charge to power the route. Transfer the active charge to the inactive core required by the sealed route, following the visible sockets and objective markers. Room landmarks and directions can be described differently along this route, so use the in-game objective and socket labels rather than relying on a particular compass direction.

The test uses a 3×3 grid of Power Cores and monitors that display the target configuration. Strike a node to toggle it on or off. Nodes stay active until struck again, so deactivate any extra nodes before moving to the next pattern.

- Triangle: Turn on the top-left, top-right, and bottom-middle nodes.
- Four corners: Turn on the top-left, top-right, bottom-left, and bottom-right nodes. Turn off the bottom-middle node from the previous pattern.
- Cross: Turn on all three nodes in the middle row and all three in the middle column. The center node belongs to both lines, so the cross uses five active nodes.
After each pattern matches the monitors, the display changes to the next target. Once the cross is correct, the screens turn green, a success announcement plays, and the exit opens.
Continue through the High Risk Chamber to V-E2
Leave the test room by the opened exit and follow the side-storage and observation route back toward Zoe and the High Risk Chamber. Continue through the training area and deal with the enemies in the atrium or Director Training section. Then make your way back toward Main Test Chamber V-E2. If Zoe is at the access panel, meet her there to enter.

Start the ritual at the CRT television
Inside Main Test Chamber V-E2, move through the mannequins and flowers to the CRT television in the center of the ritual site. Interact with the television. The objective changes to completing the ritual, beginning the Oldest House Fault sequence.
If the route or objective is stuck
- The Fault objective will not advance: Check the quest log and finish The Underpass Fault if it remains incomplete.
- Main Test Chamber V-E2 is still sealed: Take the Classrooms route to the Interactions Lab and transfer the active charge to the required inactive Power Core.
- A puzzle pattern will not register: Compare the active nodes with the current monitor pattern and strike any extra active nodes to turn them off.
- The test exit stays closed: Check the triangle, four-corners, and cross patterns in sequence. For the cross, the entire middle row and middle column must be active.
- The ritual has not started: Reach the CRT television in Main Test Chamber V-E2 and interact with it.
The route instructions are gameplay walkthroughs rather than an official Remedy mission guide; some intermediate room descriptions vary, while the prerequisite, puzzle patterns, and CRT trigger align across the walkthrough accounts.
