For Shark 2400WD-series robots, remove the fluid reservoir if one is installed, press the Dust Bin Release Button, slide out the bin, empty it into the trash, then reinstall it until it clicks. Other Shark models may use different steps, so check the owner guide for your exact model.
How to empty a Shark 2400WD-series robot vacuum
- Remove the fluid reservoir if your robot has one installed.
- Press the Dust Bin Release Button and slide the dust bin out of the robot.
- Empty the dust and debris into a trash can.
- If the bin needs washing, rinse it with water only.
- Reinsert the filter into the bin, then slide the bin back into the robot until it clicks.
These steps are documented for the 2400WD-series owner guide; they are not confirmed for every Shark robot.
Clean the filter and bin
For the 2400WD series, Shark recommends cleaning and reinserting the filter after each use to support optimal suction. When emptying the bin, tap the filter lightly to dislodge debris. For a deeper clean, rinse the filter with water once a month and let it air-dry for up to 24 hours before reinstalling it. Do not use soap or scrub the filter. The guide recommends replacing it once a year for optimal performance.

What to do if your Shark robot has a different bin release
Find your robot’s model number and look up its matching manual or support material. Shark’s official manuals index includes materials for other robot families, including the RV2600WA series. The release button and removal procedure are not established as identical across all models.
When a replacement dust bin may be needed
Routine emptying does not require a replacement bin. If your bin is damaged or missing, Shark lists replacement self-empty dust bin 149K2600WD for AV2610WA, AV2610WACA, RV2600WA, RV2610WA, RV2610WACA, RV2620WD, and RV2620WDCA. The listing says the filter is not included. Confirm your exact robot model and current part availability before ordering.
