CS2 Rush is a queued 3v3 mode where teams fight through a sequence of arenas toward the opposing team’s castle. The objective is to control the tower: Valve says the tower-holding team wins if it eliminates the other team or time runs out. Arena selection is random for each match, so the route can vary.
What is Rush mode in CS2?
Valve describes Rush as a “fast-paced queued 3v3 game mode.” Rather than contesting one conventional map objective, the teams battle through arenas toward the other team’s castle. Valve’s Rush Hour update announcement says the arenas are randomly selected for each match.
How does a Rush match progress?
Valve’s public description gives the broad structure: teams fight through a series of battle arenas, advancing toward the opponent’s castle. A separate, community-maintained technical reference to the shipped map and script describes the match as a seven-room line. In that account, winning rounds advances the contest toward the enemy castle; starting and middle rooms are randomly selected. These room-by-room details come from the Source2 Wiki, which is unaffiliated with Valve.

How do you win a Rush round?
Control the tower. Valve says the team holding it wins when the enemy team is eliminated or time expires. The official announcement does not specify the round timers or all room-specific finish conditions.

What happens at the castle, and how does a match end?
The Source2 Wiki’s technical account says a win inside the enemy castle ends the match. If neither team wins there first, it reports a normal limit of 15 rounds, with eight round wins required to clinch the match. It also reports 40-second rounds in start and middle rooms, and 60-second rounds in castles and Convoy. These are implementation details documented by that community reference, not rules stated in Valve’s public announcement; they may change with updates.
Which map does Rush use?
The Source2 Wiki says the mode currently ships with one official map, Complex, identified in game files as rush_001. The reference was updated September 23, 2026, and is community-maintained rather than an official Valve source. Queue availability and in-client details can change, so check the current CS2 menus for what is available to play.
