Chico’s generally allows eligible merchandise to be returned or exchanged within 60 days of purchase. For U.S. orders, you can usually return by mail or at a Chico’s boutique; the right route depends on where you bought the item. Refunds normally go to the original payment method, while merchandise credit applies in specific cases such as gift-receipt or accepted no-receipt returns. Outlet, international, airport, and cruise purchases have separate restrictions.
Chico’s can change its policy, so check its current Returns page before sending an item or making a trip.
What Chico’s accepts for return or exchange
The standard window is 60 days from the purchase date. Keep your receipt, gift receipt, or order information so Chico’s can identify the transaction and determine the applicable refund.
Items ordinarily must be unworn, unwashed, and in original condition unless defective. Chico’s excludes final-sale or “as is” merchandise, gift boxes, and gift cards, except where law requires otherwise. As the policy puts it, “Final Sale – Merchandise marked final sale is sold ‘as is’ and may not be returned or exchanged.”

Swimwear, watches, intimates, and hosiery have additional packaging, ticketing, or sanitary-shield requirements. Soiled or washed items are not accepted. Check the item-specific terms on Chico’s Returns page if you are unsure whether the item remains eligible.
Where to return an item
For U.S. purchases, the return location is tied to the original sales channel. Boutique purchases cannot be returned at outlets, and outlet or Off The Rack purchases cannot be returned at boutiques. Returns must be made in the country where the purchase was made; airport and cruise purchases must go back to the original location.

PayPal purchases may be returned in stores or by mail using the provided label. If the purchase channel is unclear, check the receipt or order record and confirm with customer service before travelling or shipping.
How to return a U.S. online order
- Check the deadline and eligibility. Count from the purchase date, check whether the item was marked final sale, and make sure its condition and any required packaging or tickets meet the rules.
- Gather order proof. Bring or include the receipt, gift receipt, order confirmation, or invoice. This helps Chico’s process the return under the original transaction.
- Choose a route. For an in-person return, take the item and order proof to a U.S. Chico’s boutique. For mail, open the Returns page and follow the Returns Portal instructions.
- Decide how to ship. Using Chico’s prepaid U.S. label results in a $7 deduction from the refund. If you use your own carrier label, Chico’s recommends traceable, insured delivery.
- Check the refund destination. The standard refund goes to the original form of payment, subject to the specific rules below.
Chico’s describes a Quick Exchange Service for customers who need another size or color. Call 1-888-855-4986 before sending the original item; the service can arrange the replacement order, waive standard ground shipping, and coordinate the return.

Refund or merchandise credit: what you may receive
Merchandise credit is not a cash refund, and it is not an elective alternative in every return. Chico’s assigns the outcome based on factors such as proof of purchase and how the original order was paid.

No-receipt returns are limited to $250 in a 90-day period, except for defective merchandise. Chico’s also reserves the right to refuse or limit returns. For split-tender purchases, the policy lists merchandise/gift cards first, then credit cards, checks, and cash, as applicable.

Chico’s advises allowing up to two weeks for mail-return processing. After the processing email, it says the credit may take another five to seven business days to appear. These are retailer estimates, not a guarantee of when a bank or card issuer will post the funds.

For an international return, timing and instructions depend on the authorization and process Chico’s provides. Do not send an international order to a U.S. boutique or outlet.
International returns
Orders shipped outside the U.S. cannot be returned or exchanged at Chico’s boutiques or outlets. Contact customer service within 60 days to obtain a required Return Authorization Number and detailed instructions. The current FAQ lists country-specific fees, which can change, so check the FAQ rather than relying on an old fee amount.
For international returns processed through ESW, Chico’s says it refunds the original merchandise price and duties or taxes paid on the items in the original currency and exchange rate. Its FAQ also says gift cards and merchandise credit are not accepted as payment on international orders.
Price adjustments and rewards after a return
Price adjustments
Chico’s states that a one-time price adjustment may be available if the price drops within 14 days, subject to exceptions. In-store purchases require the original receipt presented in store. Online and catalog purchases are not eligible for price adjustment in stores; the FAQ says an online order placed no more than 14 days before a price change may qualify through customer service. Contact customer service with the invoice number rather than assuming eligibility. Final-sale merchandise is excluded. See the current FAQ for applicable exceptions.

Under Chico’s Rewards+ terms, points associated with returned or exchanged qualifying merchandise are deducted and forfeited. Reward Certificates used on returned items are forfeited; their value is not refunded. See the Rewards Terms.
