Hostinger n8n Hosting Review (2026): Hostinger is a cost-effective choice for self-hosted n8n if you can manage a VPS, Docker updates, security, backups, and workflow troubleshooting. KVM 2 is the sensible starting point for many personal, freelance, and small-business workloads, while n8n Cloud is better when you want minimal server administration.
Hostinger’s official n8n template makes deployment substantially easier than building a VPS from scratch. The template uses Ubuntu 24.04 and Docker, provides a hostname-based HTTPS address, and offers a separate queue-mode configuration. Those conveniences reduce provisioning work, but they do not turn the service into fully managed n8n hosting.
Key takeaways
- Hostinger’s one-click n8n template uses Ubuntu 24.04 and Docker, with the deployment files stored in
/docker/n8n. - KVM 2 is the best general starting point for many users because it provides 2 vCPU cores, 8 GB RAM, 100 GB NVMe storage, and 8 TB bandwidth.
- Hostinger’s advertised unlimited workflows and executions remain constrained by CPU, RAM, storage, database performance, external API quotas, and workflow design.
- Hostinger supports the VPS environment, installation, and application availability, but not workflow logic, custom code, third-party API failures, or community-node bugs.
- Queue mode uses Redis and worker containers; the Hostinger template starts with three workers and requires more resources and operational skill than a basic single-instance deployment.
What does Hostinger actually provide for n8n?
Hostinger provides VPS infrastructure plus an n8n deployment template; Hostinger does not provide a fully managed n8n operations service. The current offering includes an “Ubuntu 24.04 with n8n” template, a separate “Ubuntu 24.04 with n8n (queue mode)” template, Docker-based deployment, community-node support, and a Hostinger API community node, according to Hostinger’s self-hosted n8n offering.
The practical result is a virtual server where you control Docker services, environment variables, domains, databases, credentials, and other applications. You also control the operational mistakes: a misconfigured reverse proxy, an exhausted disk, an unsafe community node, or an update that was applied without a backup.

Hostinger’s stated support boundary is important. Hostinger supports the VPS environment, installation, and ensuring that n8n is running. Hostinger does not promise to troubleshoot internal workflows, custom code, workflow logic, custom n8n configuration, third-party API failures, or community-node bugs. “n8n hosting” therefore means easier infrastructure provisioning, not outsourced automation administration.
Is Hostinger good for n8n?
Hostinger is good for n8n when low infrastructure cost, server control, and potentially unlimited self-hosted executions matter more than zero maintenance. Hostinger’s one-click template removes much of the initial Docker and server setup, while the VPS range provides a straightforward upgrade path as workload requirements grow.
Hostinger is not the best choice for somebody who wants to create workflows and never think about Linux, Docker, DNS, TLS, backups, monitoring, or recovery. n8n Cloud shifts those infrastructure responsibilities to n8n, although the hosted service uses its own pricing, usage limits, and feature categories. The n8n pricing and plans page distinguishes hosted and self-hosted offerings, so self-hosting should not be described as a way to obtain every Cloud or enterprise feature for free.
| Decision factor | Hostinger self-hosted n8n | What the distinction means |
|---|---|---|
| Deployment | One-click template or manual Docker deployment | Provisioning is easier, but the customer still operates the instance. |
| Control | Root/server-level control | You can manage environment variables, services, domains, nodes, and supporting applications. |
| Execution capacity | Limited by the VPS and external services | “Unlimited” executions do not mean unlimited simultaneous processing. |
| Updates | Customer-managed | You need release-note checks, backups, validation, and a rollback plan. |
| Webhooks | Supported with a public URL, HTTPS, DNS, and reverse proxy | External providers must be able to reach the configured public endpoint. |
| Support | VPS and installation support | Workflow failures and custom automation logic remain your responsibility. |
| Scaling | VPS upgrades and queue mode | More CPU and RAM help, but queue mode adds Redis, workers, and operational complexity. |
How much does Hostinger n8n hosting cost?
The Hostinger VPS page displayed the following US-dollar prices when checked on August 18, 2026. The displayed monthly figures were promotional monthly equivalents for plans paid upfront, not ordinary month-to-month prices. Hostinger lists prices without VAT, and the renewal amounts below apply to the displayed two-year renewal term. Check the checkout page for your country, billing period, taxes, and current campaign before buying; the dedicated n8n page showed a slightly different KVM 2 promotion during the same research pass.
| Plan | Promotional equivalent | Displayed renewal | CPU | RAM | Storage | Bandwidth |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| KVM 1 | $6.49/month | $11.99/month for 2 years | 1 vCPU | 4 GB | 50 GB NVMe | 4 TB |
| KVM 2 | $8.99/month | $14.99/month for 2 years | 2 vCPU | 8 GB | 100 GB NVMe | 8 TB |
| KVM 4 | $12.99/month | $28.99/month for 2 years | 4 vCPU | 16 GB | 200 GB NVMe | 16 TB |
| KVM 8 | $25.99/month | $49.99/month for 2 years | 8 vCPU | 32 GB | 400 GB NVMe | 32 TB |
Hostinger’s dedicated self-hosted n8n page showed KVM 2 at $8.79 per month during the same research pass, compared with $8.99 on the general VPS page. The difference indicates that landing page, campaign, localization, or pricing experiments can affect the displayed amount. The safe conclusion is that Hostinger’s promotional price is attractive, but the renewal price and upfront billing determine the real cost.
Hostinger also lists AMD EPYC processors, NVMe storage, free weekly backups, manual snapshots, firewall management, 1 Gbps networking, worldwide data-center locations, a public VPS API, an AI web terminal, and a free domain for one year on eligible plans or offers on its VPS hosting page. A free domain, when included, does not necessarily eliminate future domain-renewal costs, and a domain is not mandatory if the template hostname is sufficient.
Which Hostinger VPS plan should you choose for n8n?
KVM 2 is the most defensible default starting recommendation for a serious personal instance, freelancer, or small business, but no plan can be selected reliably from workflow count alone. Concurrent executions, execution duration, payload size, binary processing, browser automation, AI steps, database growth, and other services sharing the VPS matter more than the number of workflow definitions.
| Plan | Reasonable use | When to avoid it |
|---|---|---|
| KVM 1 | Learning, testing, low-frequency schedules, and lightweight personal integrations | Browser automation, image or video processing, AI-heavy tasks, bursty webhooks, multiple services, or important production workloads |
| KVM 2 | Serious personal automation, freelance work, small businesses, moderate webhooks, scheduled workflows, and n8n plus a modest supporting service | High concurrency, several workers, resource-intensive browser or AI workflows, or many applications sharing the VPS |
| KVM 4 | Larger workflow collections, more concurrent jobs, heavy API processing, browser or AI tasks, multiple services, or queue-mode headroom | Projects that require formal enterprise governance or a managed operations team rather than more compute |
| KVM 8 | Higher concurrency, multiple n8n workers, resource-intensive workflows, multiple databases or applications, and larger business-critical deployments | Small experiments where the additional capacity would remain unused |
KVM 1 has only 1 vCPU and 4 GB RAM, so it is best treated as a learning or low-demand instance. KVM 2 provides 2 vCPU cores, 8 GB RAM, 100 GB NVMe storage, and 8 TB bandwidth, making it a sensible starting point rather than a performance guarantee. KVM 4 and KVM 8 add headroom for concurrency and shared services, but buying the largest plan does not correct inefficient workflows, external API limits, or poor recovery practices.

What determines n8n VPS capacity?
Capacity depends on the workload profile rather than a fixed workflow total. A workflow that runs once per hour may need fewer resources than a short workflow receiving thousands of simultaneous webhooks.

- Dual-band Wi-Fi with 5 GHz speeds up to 867 Mbps and 2.4 GHz speeds up to 300 Mbps, delivering 1200 Mbps of total bandwidth¹. Dual-band routers do not support 6 GHz. Performance varies by conditions, distance to devices, and obstacles such as walls.
- Covers up to 1,000 sq. ft. with four external antennas for stable wireless connections and optimal coverage.
- Supports IGMP Proxy/Snooping, Bridge and Tag VLAN to optimize IPTV streaming
- Access Point Mode - Supports AP Mode to transform your wired connection into wireless network, an ideal wireless router for home
- Advanced Security with WPA3 - The latest Wi-Fi security protocol, WPA3, brings new capabilities to improve cybersecurity in personal networks
- Concurrency: simultaneous executions consume more CPU and memory than sequential jobs.
- Duration: long-running workflows keep resources occupied for longer.
- Payloads: large JSON objects and binary files such as images, PDFs, and videos increase memory and storage pressure.
- Execution type: browser automation, code nodes, image processing, and AI-related operations are usually more demanding than simple API calls.
- History retention: saved execution data can steadily fill disk space.
- Database and workers: queue mode, Redis, PostgreSQL, or additional workers consume resources beyond the editor process.
- External limits: an API’s rate limit can become the bottleneck even when the VPS has spare capacity.
- Co-hosted services: databases, dashboards, reverse proxies, and unrelated applications compete with n8n.
How does Hostinger’s one-click n8n installation work?
Hostinger’s current template provisions Ubuntu 24.04, installs n8n inside Docker, creates deployment configuration, and supplies a default hostname-based URL. Hostinger’s n8n VPS template guide says the first-access address follows the format https://n8n.[your-vps-hostname].
- Select a Hostinger VPS plan and choose the Ubuntu 24.04 with n8n template, or choose the queue-mode template only if the workload requires it.
- Wait for the VPS provisioning process to finish and confirm that the server is running.
- Open the provided HTTPS hostname in a browser.
- Create the n8n owner account when the first-access setup screen appears.
- Use a strong, unique password and enable two-factor authentication where the deployed n8n edition supports it.
- If using a custom domain, point DNS to the VPS, configure the deployment’s public URL and reverse proxy as required, and verify HTTPS before activating production webhooks.
- Run a harmless test workflow, then test an external webhook from outside the VPS network.
Provisioning and first login are genuinely simple. A custom domain, production HTTPS, public webhooks, secret management, reliable backups, updates, monitoring, and debugging are separate administration tasks. A manual Docker installation does not automatically receive the same hostname or HTTPS behavior as the Hostinger template.
Where are the Hostinger n8n files, and how do you configure them?
Hostinger’s template stores the relevant deployment files in /docker/n8n. The n8n service’s environment variables are defined in docker-compose.yml, and changes are applied by running docker compose up -d from that directory.
cd /docker/n8n
docker compose config
docker compose ps
docker compose up -d
docker compose config helps identify invalid Compose configuration, while docker compose ps shows container status. Do not delete persistent volumes, replace the Compose file without understanding its volumes and networks, or change database and encryption settings casually.
Keep sensitive values in a protected .env file and reference them from the Compose configuration rather than placing secrets directly in a file that might later be shared or committed. Use SSH keys, restrict file permissions, never commit .env files to Git, and rotate credentials if a secret is exposed. Preserve the n8n encryption-key configuration consistently across restarts and migrations; losing or changing the key can make stored credentials unusable. Verify the exact current n8n environment-variable name and implementation in the deployed documentation before changing it.
How do you update n8n on Hostinger safely?
Hostinger’s current template instructions use Docker Compose to pull the latest image, stop the old containers, and start the deployment again.
cd /docker/n8n
# Pull latest version
docker compose pull
# Stop and remove older version
docker compose down
# Start the container
docker compose up -d
The commands are short; safe production updates are not. Before updating, read the relevant n8n release and compatibility notes, confirm a recent backup or snapshot, export critical workflows if appropriate, record the current image and configuration, and check whether community nodes or external services could be affected.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsAfter the update, validate the deployment with:
cd /docker/n8n
docker compose config
docker compose ps
docker compose logs --tail=100 n8n
- Check that all expected containers are running.
- Sign in to the editor.
- Run a non-destructive test workflow.
- Confirm credentials and OAuth connections.
- Test an important webhook externally.
- Check queue workers and Redis if queue mode is enabled.
- Review logs for repeated errors or restart loops.
- Roll back using the documented snapshot or backup process if the new deployment fails.
Do not delete and recreate the VPS as a first-line fix. Record logs, the deployed image, environment variables, and the failure symptoms before restoring a known-good snapshot or database and data volume.
What is n8n queue mode on Hostinger?
Queue mode is an asynchronous n8n architecture that uses Redis and separate worker nodes to distribute jobs. Hostinger’s queue-mode template starts with three workers by default, and additional workers can be started with docker compose up -d --scale n8n-worker=<number>, according to the Hostinger queue-mode documentation.

docker compose up -d --scale n8n-worker=<number>
Queue mode can help when workflows are numerous or long-running, webhook traffic arrives in bursts, the editor must remain responsive while jobs execute, or work needs to be distributed across workers. Queue mode is not automatically better for a small installation.
| Single instance | Queue mode |
|---|---|
| Simpler deployment and troubleshooting | Redis and multiple worker containers |
| Lower resource consumption | More CPU and RAM required |
| Suitable for modest scheduled and webhook workloads | Useful for distributing higher or burstier workloads |
| Fewer logs and failure points | More containers, logs, scaling, and recovery paths |
| Easier updates and backups | All components must be updated and recovered consistently |
A KVM 1 server should not be casually positioned as a queue-mode production server. Queue mode adds throughput architecture, not free capacity: workers still compete for the VPS’s CPU, RAM, storage, and database resources.

Hostinger can run n8n webhooks when the instance has a stable public URL, working DNS, HTTPS, correct public-URL settings, reverse-proxy forwarding, and firewall rules that permit the required traffic. Hostinger describes webhook triggers and reverse-proxy configuration in its self-hosted n8n documentation.
A common failure occurs when the n8n editor opens successfully but an external provider cannot reach a webhook. Check that the domain resolves to the intended VPS, the certificate is valid, the webhook URL is the public HTTPS address, the reverse proxy forwards traffic correctly, the required port is exposed, the provider’s allowlist is satisfied, and the workflow is active rather than only manually executed.
For a custom domain, DNS propagation and TLS configuration are part of the operator’s responsibility. The one-click template may provide a hostname and HTTPS path, but a manual Docker deployment should not be assumed to have fully configured certificates or reverse-proxy behavior.
What security work does self-hosted n8n require?
Self-hosted n8n is only as secure as the VPS configuration, n8n settings, credentials, workflows, nodes, and update process. Hostinger supplies infrastructure controls such as firewall management, but the operator must secure the application and maintain it.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Use SSH keys instead of password-only SSH authentication, and disable or restrict password login when appropriate for the deployment.
- Allow only necessary network ports through the firewall.
- Use HTTPS for the editor and webhook endpoints.
- Protect the n8n owner account with a strong password and available two-factor authentication.
- Keep the operating system, Docker components, n8n, and community nodes updated.
- Restrict editor access instead of exposing administration broadly to the public internet.
- Review webhook exposure and avoid leaving sensitive endpoints unprotected.
- Monitor memory, CPU, disk usage, container restarts, and certificate status.
- Keep backups separate from the production VPS and test restoration.
n8n’s official security audit can be run from the CLI:
n8n audit
The audit checks areas including credentials, database queries, filesystem access, built-in and community nodes, custom nodes, unprotected webhooks, missing security settings, and outdated instances. The n8n security-audit documentation also highlights the risk of code-capable or unsafe nodes that can fetch or run code on the host system.
Are n8n community nodes safe on Hostinger?
Community nodes are useful but should be treated as code running in your environment, not as automatically trusted plug-ins. Install nodes only from trusted publishers, review package activity and source code where possible, avoid unnecessary packages, rerun audits after changes, and keep a rollback path.

Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Are Hostinger’s backups enough for production n8n?
Hostinger’s weekly backups and manual snapshots are useful infrastructure safeguards, but they are not automatically a complete n8n disaster-recovery plan. A reliable plan must define backup retention, independent storage, recovery-point objectives, recovery-time objectives, database consistency, workflow and credential export procedures, and restoration testing.
Before a major n8n update or configuration change, create an appropriate snapshot or backup and record the deployment configuration. For business-critical automation, maintain an independent copy of essential data rather than relying only on backups stored by the same VPS provider. Test restoration on a schedule; an untested backup is an assumption, not a recovery procedure.
n8n’s external binary-storage options also require careful licensing and architecture checks. The n8n external-storage documentation identifies external S3 binary storage as an Enterprise self-hosted feature and discusses compatibility considerations for S3-compatible services. Do not assume that attaching any object-storage service automatically provides the same supported feature.

The editor shows “connection lost”
Investigate reverse-proxy WebSocket forwarding, CPU or memory exhaustion, container restarts, incorrect public-URL variables, TLS termination, overloaded database storage, network instability, and queue-mode worker or Redis failures. The symptom alone does not identify Hostinger as the cause.
The webhook works manually but not externally
Check public DNS, HTTPS, the generated webhook URL, reverse-proxy forwarding, exposed ports, provider allowlists, public-URL environment variables, and whether the workflow is active.
An update breaks the instance
Stop making changes, save logs and the deployed image information, restore the last known-good snapshot or database and data volume if necessary, reapply the exact environment variables, test credentials and webhooks, and review release notes before attempting the update again.

The VPS disk fills up
Common causes include saved execution data, large binary files, Docker image layers, logs, database growth, unpruned backups, browser downloads, and temporary files. Monitor disk usage and set a sensible execution-history retention policy after verifying the current n8n configuration names in the official documentation.
Credentials stop working after migration
A workflow export does not guarantee that every integration migrates without additional work. OAuth applications may need new callback URLs, credentials may need reconnection, webhook URLs may need updating, community nodes may need reinstalling, and the original encryption key must remain available. Test each important integration rather than assuming that an imported workflow is production-ready.
How does Hostinger compare with n8n Cloud?
Hostinger self-hosting exchanges infrastructure convenience for control and a fixed VPS cost, while n8n Cloud exchanges root access for provider-managed infrastructure and updates.
| Dimension | Hostinger self-hosted n8n | n8n Cloud |
|---|---|---|
| Infrastructure | User-managed VPS | n8n-managed hosted service |
| Pricing model | VPS cost plus the value of your administration time | Hosted subscription with plan-specific allowances |
| Workflow executions | Bound by VPS capacity, configuration, and external API limits | Bound by the selected hosted plan and its allowances |
| Updates | Managed by the customer | Managed by the provider |
| Data control | Greater control over the server and deployment | Data is hosted through the n8n Cloud service |
| Server access | Root/server-level access | No equivalent root access |
| Support | Hostinger support is focused on the VPS and installation | Support and capabilities depend on the n8n Cloud plan |
| Best fit | Technical, cost-sensitive, and control-focused users | Users prioritizing convenience and reduced operations |
Self-hosting may be cheaper for high-volume or steady workloads, but the operator’s time has a cost. n8n Cloud may be financially sensible when avoiding server maintenance, backup design, update testing, and incident response is more important than controlling the infrastructure.
What are the main alternatives to Hostinger?
| Alternative | Deployment model | Best suited to | Main trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| n8n Cloud | Managed n8n hosting | Users who want the least server administration | Hosted pricing and plan-specific limits replace VPS control. |
| Hetzner Cloud | Infrastructure-oriented VPS/cloud server | Experienced users prioritizing infrastructure cost and control | Less guided n8n onboarding; deployment and security are more manual. |
| DigitalOcean Droplets | Developer-oriented VPS/cloud infrastructure | Developers who value documentation and ecosystem | n8n deployment is generally more manual than Hostinger’s template path. |
| Render | Platform-style application deployment | Users wanting less traditional server administration | Root access, persistent storage, networking, and always-on behavior depend on the selected service. |
| Railway | Developer-friendly application platform | Users comfortable with platform deployment and usage-based billing | Usage-based costs and platform configuration may be less predictable than a fixed VPS. |
| Zapier | Fully hosted automation platform | Nontechnical users prioritizing connectors and convenience | Different task/action pricing and less infrastructure control. |
| Make | Hosted visual automation platform | Users who prefer visual scenario building without VPS administration | Not self-hosted and uses different operation-based economics. |
Hostinger is more guided than a general-purpose VPS alternative but more operationally demanding than n8n Cloud, Zapier, or Make. Hetzner and DigitalOcean are relevant when the buyer already knows how to deploy and secure Docker services and does not need a Hostinger-specific template.
Who should choose Hostinger for n8n?
- Choose Hostinger KVM 1 for learning, experiments, and lightweight noncritical workflows.
- Choose Hostinger KVM 2 for a serious personal instance, freelance automations, or a small business with moderate workloads and no unusual concurrency requirement.
- Choose KVM 4 or KVM 8 when workload testing shows a need for more concurrency, browser or AI processing, multiple workers, or several services on one VPS.
- Choose queue mode when bursty or long-running workloads justify Redis and worker containers, and when you can monitor and recover a multi-container deployment.
- Choose n8n Cloud when you want to focus on workflow building rather than Linux, Docker, TLS, backups, updates, and incident recovery.
- Choose another VPS provider when you are experienced enough to value infrastructure pricing or regional availability more than Hostinger’s guided n8n template.
Hostinger is acceptable for production automation when the operator configures HTTPS, authentication, updates, monitoring, backups, tested restoration, and workload-appropriate capacity. Hostinger is not an automatic production-readiness certificate, and no independent performance benchmark supports a fixed workflow count, executions-per-minute figure, uptime promise, or universal RAM requirement.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Hostinger n8n hosting fully managed?
No. Hostinger’s n8n offering is self-hosted VPS infrastructure with a convenient deployment template. Hostinger supports the VPS environment, installation, and ensuring that n8n is running, but workflow logic, custom code, third-party API failures, and custom n8n configuration remain the customer’s responsibility.
What is the best Hostinger VPS plan for n8n?
KVM 2 is the most reasonable starting point for many serious personal, freelance, and small-business n8n installations because it provides 2 vCPU cores, 8 GB RAM, 100 GB NVMe storage, and 8 TB bandwidth. KVM 1 is better for learning, while KVM 4 or KVM 8 may be appropriate for higher concurrency or resource-intensive workloads.
Does self-hosted n8n provide unlimited executions?
Self-hosted n8n avoids a hosted execution allowance in the same way that n8n Cloud plans use plan-specific allowances, but executions remain limited by the VPS’s CPU, RAM, storage, database, workflow design, and external API quotas. Hostinger’s “unlimited” wording should not be interpreted as unlimited simultaneous performance.
Can Hostinger n8n receive webhooks?
Yes, provided the instance has a stable public URL, DNS pointing to the VPS, HTTPS, correct n8n public-URL settings, reverse-proxy forwarding, and suitable firewall rules. An editor that works in a browser does not prove that external webhook providers can reach the instance.
Is queue mode necessary for every Hostinger n8n installation?
No. Queue mode adds Redis and worker containers and is most useful for numerous or long-running workflows, bursty webhook traffic, or workloads that need distributed execution. Queue mode consumes more resources and creates more configuration, monitoring, update, and recovery work than a single n8n instance.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Hostinger is a strong-value n8n VPS choice for people who want self-hosting and can accept server administration. Start with KVM 2 for most serious personal, freelance, and small-business workloads; move to KVM 4 or KVM 8 only when concurrency and resource usage justify it. Choose n8n Cloud instead when avoiding VPS maintenance is worth the hosted subscription.
