To create a Hostinger Email app password, open the mailbox’s App passwords page in hPanel, generate a credential with a label, and copy it immediately. Enter that password—not your regular mailbox password—in the third-party mail app. Your mailbox must be active, and your plan must support app passwords.

Where to find App passwords in Hostinger

  1. Sign in to the Hostinger dashboard and open Emails.
  2. Select the domain associated with the mailbox.
  3. Choose Mailboxes from the left sidebar.
  4. Find the mailbox, open its Options menu (⋮), and select App passwords.
  5. Select Generate.
  6. Enter a recognizable label in App name, such as the name of the app or device, then select Generate again.
  7. Copy the generated password before closing the window. Hostinger displays it only once. If you lose it, delete that credential and generate a replacement.

Hostinger’s app-password instructions describe this dashboard flow. If the App passwords option is missing, check that the mailbox is active and that its plan supports the feature; the guide does not list every eligible plan, so availability must be confirmed in your account.

How to use the password in a mail app

In the app or device’s mailbox account settings, enter the full mailbox email address and the newly generated app password where it asks for the mailbox credentials. Do not enter your Hostinger account login password. Hostinger distinguishes that dashboard login from the mailbox password, and Titan Email credentials are separate as well; its mailbox password reset guide explains the credential distinction.

An app password authenticates like the main mailbox password and grants full mailbox access. Treat it as a sensitive credential and do not share it.

Connection settings, if the app asks for them

Use the protocol and encryption mode supported by the mail client. IMAP and POP3 are alternative ways to receive mail, not different kinds of passwords; SMTP is used for sending.

Purpose Server Encryption and port
Incoming mail with IMAP imap.hostinger.com SSL, port 993
Incoming mail with POP3 pop.hostinger.com SSL, port 995
Outgoing mail with SMTP smtp.hostinger.com SSL, port 465

If SMTP over SSL causes a connection problem, Hostinger’s email setup guide suggests TLS or STARTTLS on port 587. Follow the mode your client expects; not every app uses the same configuration.

How to revoke an app password

  1. Return to the mailbox’s App passwords page in hPanel.
  2. Find the credential by its app name and creation date, then select the trash icon beside it.

Hostinger says revocation removes that app’s access immediately without changing the main mailbox password or other app passwords. If you see an app-password entry you do not recognize, revoke it.
