In Hostinger AI Builder’s manual mode, upload files through More → Media library, then attach a file to a menu item, button, text link, or image action using File download. Save the relevant settings and update your website to publish the change.
Upload a file to the Media Library

In the Builder editor, open More → Media library. You can also reach the library through image controls such as Edit image or Replace image.

Drag a file from your device into the library, or click Upload and choose it.

To organize assets, use the library’s folder and file controls to create folders, move or rename files, inspect file details, or add alt text to images.

Hostinger documents images (.JPG, .JPEG, .PNG, .GIF, .SVG, .WEBP), audio (.WAV, .MP3, .FLAC, .OGG), video (.MP4, .AVI, .MOV, .WMV, .FLV), and documents (.DOC, .DOCX, .XLS, .XLSX, .PPT, .PPTX, .ODT, .ODP, .PDF, .EPUB, .TXT, .RTF) as supported library categories. File acceptance can also depend on the upload restrictions and current editor, so check the UI if a listed type is refused. See Hostinger’s Media Library guide.
Add a download link to your site
After uploading, choose where visitors should find the file. Hostinger’s file-upload guide documents these options:
Navigation menu

Open Pages and navigation → Add link.

Enter the navigation name, set Link to to File download, then select the uploaded file or upload one from the file picker.

Save the link settings and update the site.
Button
Edit the button, set Link to → File download, and select or upload the file. Save the setting and update the site.

Text hyperlink
Select the words that should be clickable, open the link control, choose File download, and select or upload the file. Save and update the site.
Image action
Open Edit image → Action, set On click to Open link, choose File download, and select or upload the file. Save and update the site.
Once the site is updated, check the live page or preview and click the link to confirm it points to the intended file. Hostinger describes this as a one-click download; the exact behavior after clicking can vary by browser and is not specified in its instructions.
Check file limits and troubleshoot upload failures
Hostinger’s current manual-mode troubleshooting guide states a maximum supported file size of 15 MB. For images, it recommends staying under 10 MB and using .webp for better performance. The same guide lists .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .gif, .svg, and .webp as supported image formats, and says .heic and .tiff are unsupported; convert those images to JPG if needed. These are Hostinger’s product guidance, not independent performance measurements. See the manual-mode troubleshooting guide.

Check the filename. Use Latin characters and numbers. Hostinger advises avoiding spaces and symbols such as #, @, and !.

Do not upload video files directly. Use the Builder’s Video element to embed a YouTube or Vimeo link instead.

Check blocked extensions. Hostinger blocks several file types for security, including archive formats such as .7Z, .RAR, and .ZIP; executable or installer files such as .EXE and .MSI; scripts such as .JS, .PHP, and .PY; and .HTM/.HTML. The full list includes additional archive, package, script, and executable formats. Do not rename a blocked file to try to bypass the restriction.

Check size and format in the editor. General library format support does not override upload restrictions; if the Builder refuses a file, use the current UI’s error message to identify the constraint.

Choose whether to offer a PDF as a download or embed it
Hostinger documents two ways to add a PDF. Choose a download link when visitors should open or save the file separately; embed it when they should view it on the page. The documented embed route stores the file in Google Drive, while the download route uses the Builder’s Media Library.

Hostinger documents these workflows but does not compare their performance, privacy, or access controls. Follow its PDF instructions for the embed steps.
When the Media Library is not enough
Hostinger describes AI Builder as a non-file-based platform. Its standard dashboard File Manager is for custom PHP/HTML websites and does not manage Builder content; traditional FTP, SSH, or File Manager workflows are not the route for uploading files to a manual-mode Builder site. Use the Media Library for the Builder workflow.
