HONOR’s official China materials confirm the X80 Pro Max 5G’s headline specifications: an 11000mAh typical battery, 90W wired charging, a 6.8-inch 1280×2788 display with up to 120Hz refresh, and IP68, IP69 and IP69K water-resistance ratings. They do not give a complete spec sheet. Chipset, camera hardware, dimensions, weight, full 5G band support, and software update commitments are not visible in the official text available for this article, so any page claiming a full list of those values should be checked against HONOR directly.
The rest of this article separates what HONOR has published, what each figure is attached to, and what remains unverified. The launch material is dated 22 June 2026, and prices and availability reflect that announcement rather than current market conditions.

Capacity and charging
HONOR calls its battery a fourth-generation Qinghai Lake battery and gives two capacity figures: 11000mAh typical and 10690mAh rated. Treat 11000mAh as HONOR’s typical number and 10690mAh as its rated number. Both come from HONOR’s own product information.

Reverse charging, which lets the phone power another device with a cable, is advertised at up to 27W. HONOR restricts that figure to devices its laboratory has tested, so do not assume every accessory will reach it.

HONOR publishes five endurance results. Each uses its own test setup, so they cannot be compared with each other or read as everyday runtime.

Standby at 42 days is the most dramatic number, and it is also the most dependent on the setup. A phone with background apps, a busy network, or a weak signal will not match it. Use the active-use figures as a rough ceiling for a single activity under the stated settings, not a prediction.
Display
Panel and refresh rate
The screen is 6.8 inches on the diagonal, measured as a standard rectangle, with a 1280×2788 resolution. HONOR says the visible area is slightly smaller than that measurement implies. The refresh rate reaches 120Hz, but the actual rate depends on the app and game in use, so 120Hz should be read as a maximum.

Brightness and flicker claims
HONOR advertises up to 10000 nits of local peak brightness. This is a peak value for a small local area, not a full-screen brightness figure, and it was not independently measured in the material reviewed.
The 3840Hz PWM dimming claim is presented as a low-flicker feature. HONOR’s Chinese launch text reads: 荣耀X80 Pro Max搭载 3840Hz 超高频 PWM 调光技术，达到零风险调光级别。 In English, this says the phone uses 3840Hz ultra-high-frequency PWM dimming and reaches a “zero-risk” dimming level. That is HONOR’s wording and it is a product claim. HONOR’s product page references IEEE Std 1789-2015 for its explanation of PWM and states that the phone is not a medical device and has no treatment function. Do not read “zero-risk” as an independent medical or eye-safety finding.
Durability
Water and dust resistance
HONOR advertises IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings. It also describes 10-metre immersion testing, 85°C hot-water spray testing, and 100,000 water-entry tests. These are HONOR’s descriptions of its own testing. A rating describes a test condition, not every real-world exposure, and it does not cover every kind of liquid damage. Check the warranty terms before assuming liquid damage is covered.

Drop resistance
HONOR says the phone received SGS Gold Label five-star drop-resistance certification for stringent scenarios. Its announcement describes tests including drops of 1.2m onto complex surfaces and a 3m fall onto smooth marble. These details come from HONOR’s launch announcement; the certificate itself is not reproduced in the material cited here, so treat the figures as HONOR’s account.
Optional screen repair benefit
In China, HONOR offers an optional, conditional two-year free screen repair benefit covering up to two repairs for specified accidental damage. Enrolment is through My HONOR within one month of purchase. Market and eligibility conditions apply, and the offer should not be assumed to be global or permanent.

HONOR’s China shop listing shows a different configuration: a 12GB + 256GB orange dual-SIM version. It does not appear among the four launch configurations, and the sources do not explain the difference. The shop package includes the phone with built-in battery, pre-applied screen film, a quick guide, a 90W HONOR SuperCharge charger, a USB-C data cable, a SIM ejector and a TPU case. Package contents may vary by market and listing.
Livestream battery result
HONOR’s launch material cites a 26 hours 08 minutes 34 seconds livestream result and attributes it to a Guinness World Records challenge held in Xinjiang. This article does not cite the Guinness record entry itself, so treat it as HONOR’s claim until the record is confirmed.

Do not fill these gaps from a different HONOR model or a third-party aggregator. Values for a similarly named phone, such as a variant with other hardware, will not match the X80 Pro Max 5G.
Checks before you buy or compare
- Confirm the exact model and region. Match the model number on the box or in settings to the regional listing before relying on any specification.
- Confirm the bands. Check the 5G bands against your carrier’s published support, because band support is not confirmed in the official text reviewed.
- Compare battery figures like with like. Compare typical with typical and rated with rated, and only compare runtime results that used the same network, brightness, volume and app conditions.
- Check the warranty before relying on water or drop ratings. Ratings describe test conditions; warranty terms define what is covered.
- Confirm the price and configuration. Use the seller’s current listing, since launch prices and shop configurations differ.
- Check accessory fit. Only buy a case, film or cable if the listing names the X80 Pro Max and states charging compatibility.
