The Hisense U7SG is a 2026 4K MiniLED TV whose main selling point is color. Techlicious (Sherri L. Smith, September 23, 2026) describes its color as vivid and detailed after a demonstration earlier in 2026. That is one reviewer’s visual impression, and the feature was published in partnership with Hisense. It is not a measured color-accuracy result. The specifications below are Hisense’s claims as reported in that feature unless noted otherwise.
What the U7SG is
The U7SG belongs to Hisense’s 2026 U7 line of MiniLED QLED televisions. Techlicious calls the panel the 4K Hi-QLED MiniLED Pro display, a design that combines quantum-dot color with MiniLED backlighting. The feature lists six sizes: 55, 65, 75, 88, 100 and 116 inches. Best Buy’s 2026 listings for the 55-inch 55U7SG and the 65-inch U7 series match the model naming and the series features described in the feature.
Where the color and brightness claims come from
Hisense credits quantum-dot color for the set’s palette and MiniLED backlighting for brightness and contrast control. The feature passes along two numbers that Hisense supplies for the set. Both are maximums, not typical results.

|---|---|---|
| Panel type | 4K Hi-QLED MiniLED Pro | Techlicious, September 23, 2026 |
| Peak brightness | Up to 3,000 nits | Hisense claim, reported by Techlicious |
| Local dimming zones | Up to 3,000, depending on screen size | Hisense claim, reported by Techlicious |
| Native refresh rate | 165Hz | Techlicious; Best Buy’s 2026 U7 listing |
The feature does not say which test pattern, window size or picture mode produced the 3,000-nit figure. Read it as a ceiling for bright highlights. It does not predict how the set will look in everyday content.
#1 Best Overall
- HI - QLED MINILED: Striking contrast and vivid, lifelike color put every scene in a new light. Whether it's a sunny landscape or a candlelit drama, the picture leaps off the screen. Mini-LED backlighting uses hundreds of precise light zones to enhance contrast across the screen. Paired with Hi-QLED technology, every color comes through with stunning depth and accuracy
- NATIVE 144HZ REFRESH RATE: Fast breaks, high-speed chases, live finales — every frame stays crisp and fluid, so the action is always exactly where you need it to be. Native 144Hz refresh performance keeps movement fast and sharp, reducing blur during gameplay and live sports. The quick response helps you stay in control during competitive gaming while making rapid camera shots in shows and movies easier to follow
- BUILT-IN SUBWOOFER: Immersive deep bass from the built-in subwoofer pulls you into the heart of the moment, from the rumble of an explosion to the thump of your favorite song. Feel like you’re a part of the action
- ANTI-REFLECTION & GLARE-FREE: Bright rooms are no match for this screen. The anti-reflection and glare-free display keeps your view clean and distraction-free, so you stay focused on what matters — the show
- UNIBODY SLIM DESIGN: Edge-to-edge display and a seamless design that disappears into your room — so all you see is the picture
What the demonstration showed
The author’s main example is a soccer replay. She describes Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid flags, the texture of the grass, and fine detail on the players. Her most specific line is: “Details were so crisp that I saw the sweat trickling down the brow of one player.”
That is a first-person account of a demonstration. The feature does not describe the room lighting, the source content, the picture settings or how long she watched.
What is not established about color accuracy
- The available coverage includes no independent colorimeter measurement, color gamut figure or calibrated accuracy test for the U7SG.
- “Vivid” and “the kind of color you have to see” describe the viewing impression. They are not numbers and cannot be converted into an accuracy score.
- No comparison with another television was published in the feature, so the color claim has no baseline.
Gaming and motion
The U7SG is listed with a native 165Hz refresh rate. The feature names these gaming features:
Recommended Free Tools
- Game Booster 330, which can trade resolution for higher frame rates on a compatible PC.
- Game Bar, the on-screen gaming control panel.
- Dolby Vision Gaming and HDR10+ Gaming, two HDR formats for games.
- AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, variable refresh support for AMD-based systems.
The resolution-for-frame-rate trade-off applies only when Game Booster 330 runs on a compatible PC. The feature does not state which PCs qualify or what resolution the trade produces.
Picture formats and processing
- Hi-View AI Engine Pro, Hisense’s picture processing system. The feature names it but does not explain what it adjusts.
- Dolby Vision, a dynamic HDR format.
- Filmmaker Mode, a picture preset meant to show movies closer to how they were graded.
- IMAX Enhanced, support for IMAX-enhanced streaming and disc content.
Sound and smart-TV platform
The 55-, 65- and 75-inch models are described with 2.1.2-channel sound supporting Dolby Atmos and DTS Virtual:X. The 116-inch model uses a different 6.2.2-channel speaker layout. The smart-TV platform is Google TV with Gemini. The feature does not evaluate speaker output or the platform’s performance.

Hisense USA’s January 5, 2026 announcement at CES covers a different family. It includes the RGB MiniLED UR8 and UR9 series and the 116UXS flagship, which uses a four-primary RGB MiniLED evo design. Those products and their color claims are separate from the U7SG. Do not apply RGB MiniLED figures to the U7SG.
Is the U7SG the right TV for you?
Use these checks to decide whether the reported features match your room and habits:
- Size and budget: The 55-, 65- and 75-inch sizes have reported prices. The 88-, 100- and 116-inch sizes do not, so check the retailer for those.
- Room brightness: The 3,000-nit ceiling matters most for bright highlights. If the room has windows or glare, check how the set handles reflections in independent reviews.
- Gaming: 165Hz and FreeSync Premium Pro suit fast-moving games. Game Booster 330 applies only on a compatible PC.
- Movies: Dolby Vision, Filmmaker Mode and IMAX Enhanced cover the main high-end movie formats in the feature.
- Sound: The built-in 2.1.2 system is the feature’s audio description. Plan for a soundbar if you want more bass or width.
- Installation: Confirm the mount pattern, the wall stud layout and the HDMI 2.1 ports you need for consoles or a PC.
When you compare the U7SG with other televisions, use the same criteria for each set: screen size and live price, room brightness and reflection handling, picture processing and local dimming, motion and gaming support, smart-TV platform, built-in audio, and connections and mounting. Head-to-head results against rival models come from independent tests, not from this feature.
