It also advertises DNS and IP leak protection, a kill switch, and unlimited bandwidth. Which VPN is faster?
The available evidence does not establish a speed winner. Vendor performance language, server totals, and advertised port capacity are not substitutes for controlled, comparable measurements. Download and upload throughput, latency, stability, and disconnections can change with your location, ISP, device, server destination, protocol, and time of day.

To make a meaningful comparison for your connection, use the same device and ISP, test the same server destinations with the same protocol and time windows, and record an unprotected baseline. Repeat runs and compare download speed, upload speed, latency, and disconnections. Results would apply to those locations, devices, and test periods—not every user.
Do hide.me or CyberGhost work for streaming?
Both promote streaming support, and hide.me advertises streaming-optimized servers while CyberGhost lists streaming-optimized servers. That does not guarantee access to a particular service or content library: availability and results can change by country, platform, and time.

CyberGhost’s streaming page says that using its VPN to access a content library in another country is against its terms of service. Review the service’s current terms and the streaming platform’s rules before trying to access region-specific content.
What do the audit disclosures establish?
The disclosures have different dates and described scopes, so they should not be treated as equivalent or as proof of present-day performance. Securitum’s hide.me executive summary identifies the assessed product state as of 15 March 2024 and discusses the declared no-log policy. hide.me’s 2024 transparency report separately states that a no-log audit was completed during 2024 and that its mobile apps passed MASA; that report statement is distinct from the detailed Securitum summary.

CyberGhost’s 2024 transparency report describes a Deloitte review of its server network and management systems initiated in September 2022. The report says the auditors found no data that could trace user activity to a specific account. Because this is a dated vendor disclosure, it should not be represented as a 2026 audit. Neither vendor disclosure independently establishes that the service will meet every user’s privacy needs; review the report’s scope and date.
